More Than A Pet

GiGi!

 “I'm home!”

Suri walks into her home and glances around. Oh, she always forgets. Suri goes and falls face-flat onto the couch and lets out a sigh. She always forgets she lives by herself now. Suri huffs and turns her head so it's out of the cushions. She just had to leave home right after high-school graduation. What does she even want to do for college? She's already switched majors in the first two months. No, what does she want to do for her life? So far, she's been just going with the flow in school. It's actually getting hard to do her work because she doesn't see the point of it.

Suri stands up and walks out to her apartments balcony. Why would should she continue anyway. She's attending a college she never cared for. Suri lays her head on the railing. Nothing's going right. Why can't she figure out what she wants to do? Suri furrows her eyebrows and then lifts her head up to the sky.

“I want a change!”

Kent jumps down from his shuttle and onto a building. He looks around himself to observe Earth. There were many buildings around, but some forest land in the far distance. He muses to himself that it looks like a pretty boring planet. Kent takes a deep breath in, but immediately regrets it as he starts to choke on the air. He grabs his nose in disgust.

“W-Why is there so much carbon dioxide in the air?”

He buries his nose and mouth into his shirt, not wanting to breath any more of the air. He's saving a human by taking it off this planet. A smile comes onto his face at the thought. Kent's already becoming a wonderful pet owner! Saving a human from potential hypercapnia!

“Alright, which pet should I adopt?”

“I want a change!”

Kent blinks and looks down from where he was. He tilts his head at the human he sees in the building next to his. He presumed it was a female because of the longer hair . . . But, he could be wrong. The girl was shouting some other stuff off while standing outside before moaning and resting her head on the railing. Kent raises an eyebrow at her actions. It's too bad he can't understand her, the human looked really upset. He leans over the building a bit to get a better look at the female.

She had thick, dark, brown hair that was tied up and styled bangs. An ugly frown was on her face and her brown eyes were glaring at the ground. No, he takes that back. It looks more like a pout from where he's standing. The human didn't stand out that much. But, she actually did look cute.

His eyes widen as she turns around to walk into the building. Kent panics and quickly takes out dart from his pants pocket. He brings the dart up to his mouth and takes a deep breath.

“Why can't I know what I want? Give me a change! Everything's so confusing in life!”

Suri takes in a breath after yelling. Well, that felt good during the moment. But now she feels the same again, lost. She rests her head on the railing one more time. She better stop wasting time and start working on that paper due Tuesday.

“Even though I'll probably just drop out and change classes again.” She mumbles.

Suri stands straight and begins to walk into her apartment. She loses her footing as a pain strikes through her neck. Suri gasps and feels her neck and finds there's something sticking out of it. Her eyes widen at the object. Did someone assault her? ! Suri's panic increases as she feels herself get drowsy and her legs give in beneath her. Before her vision faded away along with her senses, she saw two feet jump in front of her and a voice.

“I think I'll name you . . . GiGi!”
