Aizawa decided to seat me in the back, in a spare desk a bit off put from the others. My classmates probably would've bombarded me if not for his red-eyed stare that sent them back to their seats. Midoriya was in a seat front and diagonal from mine. I knew I should probably sit and listen to instruction, which from the little I did hear, was going to be partnered training that would rotate partners every week. But I couldn't help myself from watching Midoriya scribbling in his notebook. He looked so immersed. I really wished I could be as hardworking as him one day.

Class was temporarily dismissed for lunch, and after would be the beginning of our outdoor sessions. I hoped over the meal break I could get a feel for my classmates without embarrassing myself. I noticed Bakugou watching me intensely as I gathered my things and left.

"Hey!! Wait up!" I heard a girl yell from behind me. She was bounding at me so fast I thought she would fall. "Fujigita Kegeru, right?"

   I coughed and nodded. "That's me. Uraraka-san, I presume?"

She smiled. She looped her arm in mine in a friendly way and continued to walk with me like we were old friends. Part of me was scared, but I also felt content. Safe. Something about her just made me stop worrying. We made it to the lunchroom and she asked if I wanted to eat with her and her friends. Friends being...Midoriya. Reluctantly, I agreed. After all, where else would I go? Being with others is better than alone, right?

I pulled out my bento and took a seat between the taller guy with the glasses, whose name I can't remember, and Uraraka. Midoriya was on her other side. Thankfully, I hadn't spotted Bakugou yet.

"So, what brings you to UA? I mean, since you weren't a first year here?" The tall boy asked. His glasses glint and I felt a wave of intimidation.

Midoriya speaks to me for the first time and butterflies erupt in my chest. He had his mouth full and I felt my face flush. "Yeah, I was curious about that! I did some research on your quirk and I'm curious how you use it to fight. Honestly it sounds amazing, and dangerous."

My hair falls in my eyes and I find it comforting, like a curtain that protected me from the embarrassment.

"I...ah..well...I.." for some reason I couldn't speak. I had a lump in my throat. His face became soft, concerned. Almost...shy.

"I-I'm sorry to bombard you. You don't have to feel like you're obligated or anything. I just want to know more about you." He said reassuringly.

I shook my head. "No. No it's okay. I'm still getting used to everything here and... I'm a little nervous." I laugh. "Okay, well maybe I'm excruciatingly nervous."

Uraraka and Midoriya give me warm smiles. They're so similar, I noticed. I tried to give my most convincing smile back. I hope that was enough. Soon it was over, the three friends were mingling together, and I felt like a bother. So I left early. I changed into my gym uniform and collected my thoughts. Now I could finally prove myself to Midoriya and the rest of them. Maybe I can fit in. Be someone *he* can look up to, too. I wondered who Aizawa would partner me with. He didn't seem to care about me much. He hadn't even bothered to introduce me to the class. I wasn't sure if he even liked me. Regardless, I was determined to be someone important. Someone who wasn't always messing up.
