UA has a surprisingly large outdoor campus. I raked my fingers through the dewy grass as I waited for class to start. I laid on my back and watched the clouds drift by. My eyes widened as a face popped into my view. The unmistakable green hair and constellation of freckles. Am I dreaming? I feel so happy my eyes begin to water.

"Fujigita-kun? Are you alright? You're crying." Midoriya asked, concern on his face. He's bent over to get a good look at me, and suddenly I feel vulnerable.

"I-I'm sorry. It's really pretty out here. Why are you here so early?" I replied, wiping my tears and collecting my composure.

He sat down next me and nodded. The closeness was making me nervous.

"I saw you leave and I was worried that you weren't okay. But I was wrong," He laughed awkwardly, "I guess you just like it out here just as much as me."

"Practice with me?" I blurted. Anything to just be a little closer. His smile gets bigger.

"Good idea!" He leapt up and posed in a ready stance. I get up slowly, brushing the grass of my uniform. I quickly devise a plan of attack based on what he already knew. I needed to let him make a few moves before I wipe them.

I raise my hands as to say "well?"
He smirked and charged at me with a speed I didn't know he had. I barely have enough time to duck a blow. Classic right hook. Maybe he is taking after Bakugou after all.

Concentrate. I look deep into his determined eyes and clear my mind. I watch his face drain and confusion cloud his mind. While he's dazed, I leap from behind and pin him down. He says something, but his face is in the dirt and I can't understand him. I release all my pressure and he sits up in the grass with a dumbfounded expression.

"All I remember is...agreeing to practice and then I'm on the ground... Your quirk! Wow, did you really erase my memory...? That's amazing! I need to watch in action!" He is so full of pure excitement my heart melts and the world around him blurs.

"I expected you to be mad..." I admitted, helping him to his feet.

He reassures me he doesn't feel that way. Then he gives me a strange look.

"I don't mean to pry but..." he reaches up and runs a finger down my nose and along the scar that zigzags across my face. "What happened...? I mean, I'm sorry! You don't have to tell me! I just worry!"

I'm just about to reply when a screaming Bakugou appears in his gym uniform chasing a hysterical Kirishima holding a sticky bun in his mouth. Midoriya scratches his neck nervously and I can tell he doesn't expect me to reply in front of the other students, who begin arriving. Laughter and chattering echo around me but my eyes are still stuck on that sweet boy...soft expression, so kind, yet stronger than anyone... I decide then and there I'd protect him for the rest of my life.
