At the guild-
Lucy's pov :
I put my head on my arms resting. I was beat. "What's wrong Lucy?" Mira asked with worry in her words. "I'm sooo tired. Natsu and Happy have been dragging me every for the pass weeks.", "Ooh really you and Natsu have been hanging out have you." I was getting a blush on my face. "Its not like that..." Mira had a smile on her face like she always does looking at me. "Anyway I think I'll just be hanging out at my house. I have a date with my bed and pillow.", "Are you sure you can't cancel on them? We're having a party and everyone from magnolia is invited.", "A party!! Well why didn't you say so. They can wait for another day." Then a certain dragon slayer sat next to me butting into the conversation. "Hey what kind of party are we talking about.","I thought I told everyone in the guild about this?" Mira said questioning her own mind now. "You did but you know me.","Well its just a dress up party. You know how everyone loves to dress up for Halloween. Its just like that.", "That's awesome!! Did you make that up on your own?", "Yes I did and.......it's tonight" Mira said. "Whaat! Why am I the one who always gets a late notice?" I said actually starting to know that my statement is true. "Well I better get going so I can find out what to wear." I said leaving the conversation and heading out of the guild. "Hey Lucy wait up! So your going to the party tonight right.", "Yea Natsu didn't you hear me back there.", "Well then I'll pick you up at 8 then.", "Wait what?", "See ya later Luce!" Natsu yelled going the other way. What was that about. Wait I have no time for this I gotta pick a costume out. I went around magnolia mainly the whole day and finally found the perfect costume. Going back to my apartment I got dressed and ready. Its almost time. I looked at myself in the mirror. "Its missing something." I said out loud. I looked inside my drawers and found what I was looking for. I put my cat ears on and put my hair on top of the band so it would look more realistic and thankful it did. Now I'm ready to go. I sat on the chair waiting for Natsu to come..............okay maybe I was to fast to get ready.......no I'm ready it's already 8............I can wait noooo problemo............................okay, okay I can't wait, I'm an impatient person I admit it. I got up from my chair. Where is he. I was walking to my window when I got knocked down. I looked to find Happy besides me. "Happy are you ok??", "Aye......sir." I picked up Happy and huged him. I know Happy can get on my nerves but he's so cute and there's no denying it. "Hey Happy wait for me." Then I saw Natsu come in from the window. He was wearing a cape with fake fangs. A vampire. He was looking at me and then he turned around, "I'll wait outside for you guys." and then he jumped out. Damn that Natsu acting all mysterious. "Well let's get going Happy." We went outside and we all started to walk to the guild. "Natsu next time use the door.", "Yea" I looked over at Natsu. It looked like he was slightly blushing. Why the heck is he blushing. Is he blushing because of me? Maybe Natsu really does like me. He's been acting kind of strange lately. Is that it. Does he like me? How am I supposed to know. If he really does shouldn't he have already done something about it. "Lucy?", "Uh, yea?", "You really are a weirdo." That's it, I take it all back!! I was thinking to much into it again.
At the guild -
Lucy's pov :
We finally made it and it's already packed. "Lu-Lu wow look at you." I saw Levy coming up to me. "I know you aren't talking look at you hot shot." Levy was wearing an maids outfit. "Well let's not stand here all night let's dance." and I was dragged out on the dance floor. It seemed like we were dancing for ages. I loved the musicthat was playing. I won't lie though. I did step on some people's toes but all in all, it was pretty fun. Their was this one guy named Austin and he was super nice. We were dancing and talking for awhile and I actually got the guys phone number. Later that night I had to take a break or at least get something to drink. I went to the punch bowl and pored some in a cup. I was about to take a sip when someone's hand went between me and the cup. I looked at the person and found out it was Natsu. I hadn't seen him since we came in. "Lucy don't be dumb. You do know someone some spiked the drink.", "Well where's the water then?", "Come on." He took my hand and lead me to the Bar when he hopped over the counter and gave me a water bottle. We sat down for a bet. "Hey Natsu where have you been. I haven't seen you dancing.", "Oh I don't dance.", "What! What about that time you danced in front of the guild. ", "Well I wouldn't really call that dancing.", "Well I guess we're gonna have to change that now are we." I took Natsu's hand and lead him to the dance floor. I started to dance when I looked over how Natsu was doing I couldn't believe it. He was just standing there doing nothing. "Come on Natsu just move.", "I told you I don't know what to do.", "Just move your hips a little. ", "Like this?" He moved his hips like a circle. I mainly just smacked him on the forehead. I couldn't believe it. "Here let me get you started of." I put my hands on his hips "Like this." I moved them to the right then the left "That's mainly it for guys. Make sure you bend you knees though.", "Yea thanks." We started to dance for awhile when Levy came to get me and pulled me somewhere else. She was talking about "she doesn't want to be alone" and "I ditched her". We mainly danced the whole night together. Until the last song came on and you know what that means. Slow dancing. I always hated them because no one would ever wanna dance with me. We started to walk when someone asked Levy to dance. She looked at me and I gave her that look that she better go. I sat back down thinking that it should be time to go when someone came up to me. I think his name was Austin. Yea I remember it's Austin. He asked me for a dance and I gladly accepted. We were slow dancing for a while and I would have to say that he was pretty cute. Maybe I should give this guy a chance and call him. We were talking for a bet just about life and he was very interesting. When a person asked if he could dance with me. "Natsu what are you doing?", "What? Is it so wrong to dance with you?", "No", "By the way Luce.", "Yea", "How do you dance to this. It's way different then you taught me." You got to be kidding me. Just this once can't you know what to do. Ahhh no its fine. I'm not angry. Its aaaallll good. "Give me your hands." I placed one on my hip and left the other in my hands. "Now all you do now is just sway back and forth." After that it was pretty silent. Nothing was said we were just dancing and listening to the music. I put my head against his shoulder laying it down. At first I felt him tense up but then he started to relax. I started to think about him. Why he's always acting strange now or maybe he's developing feelings for me. I think that, but then why at some moments he treats me as his friend. If he really liked me shouldn't he treat me a little different. Well there were a couple of times he did treat me different but is that because I'm his best friend. Maybe that's all I'll ever be to him. Just a best friend. Maybe this is it. I can't live my whole life thinking if he likes me or not. I gotta move on if I like it or not. I have to. "Hey Luce", "Yea", "You ok. You haven't said anything at all.", "Yea I'm just enjoying the moment.", ".......Then I'll enjoy it with you." After that nothing happened. We danced then we went to talk to everyone and said our goodbyes. He did walk me home but that was it. I went upstairs to my apartment and took a bath. I was thinking that I should give that guy a chance. Maybe it'll work out between us. I gotta at least try. When I got out of the bath I went to the phone and held out the piece of paper the guy gave me with his phone number on it and dialed it. "Hello is this Austin...Hey its Lucy from the dance. I was just wondering if you would like to get some coffee tomorrow.......ok that's great......in the afternoon......alright I'll be there...bye."
