(This is a true story)
A few years back, something opened my eyes to how powerful prayer is. So it was the day of our sports carnival (yeah, it's like a day where we compete against each other in our respective color houses) . And boy was it hot. Now our school didn't have their own field, so we had to borrow the church ground next door, to hold this event.
Before we got into all the playing, we first had to do our marches and war cries around the field. You can guess how painful that was, especially if you're a sport-less child. Screaming at the top of our lungs, while trying to hold a note all the while having the Sun's rays beat down on us like we were turkeys in an oven, it was the worst. And after that we had our morning assembly which consisted of our national anthem and pledge, usual prayer and a prayer from the pastor of the church ground.
I know right?! Who the heck wants to sing and take the pledge much less pray in the hot sun, while standing. And then having to sit down on the hot earth, to pray again. Yeah guess I was being childish, but whatever.
So the pastor started with his prayer. And Lord forgive me, I don't remember much of what he was saying. I just closed my eyes and put my head down. But I do remember how he ended the prayer. He said, something along the lines of "God cool the earth" Or something, "bring a breeze/let the sun not disturb our game" Basically he prayed that we play without disturbance from the heat.
We said Amen and opened our eyes. And may I add, we were about 500+ students. Immediately after we opened our eyes, this darkness came over us and a breeze swept right past us. Suddenly and I mean SUDDENLY it was cooler. Everyone gasped at the sky. The clouds had moved to cover the sun. It was unbelievable.
Believe me/believe me not. it was crazy weird!
Ok, ok, heathens, this isn't me forcing my religion on anyone. You were born with the free will to think for yourself. For my Christians, yes miracles are real.
I don't think anything is a coincidence. It's my own personal belief that everything happens for a reason or well is caused by something else to happen. Every happens to affect something else.
W E I R D
And yeah it was a miracle because my house actually won. Wooohooo!! 🎉🍻🎈
