Surprise! {KageyamaxReader}

The Breakdown

As I placed my hand on his cheek and leaned in to kiss him, I was very surprised that Kageyama kissed me back. I've been wanting to do this for how long now? Who knew it would be tonight! Finally, we broke the kiss which wasn't long but enough to get a message through.

Kageyama seemed really confused as to why I had just kissed him, which made it seemed like he had no interest in me. Shit could I have been really that stupid?

"Fuck, I'm sorry..." I said looking down in embarrassment. "I shouldn't have done that"

"Wait, what?" Kageyama said with this confused look in his eyes.

Kageyama's POV~

Wow, I'm so stupid. HOW DID I NOT KNOW. I'm kind of upset I didn't make the first move, but that was kinda hot? Ugh, why is she now apologizing? Should I kiss her back?

(Y/N) POV~

I was about to start crying from embarrassment until Kageyama-Kun pulled me in from the waist and kissed me again. This kiss felt different too.

" You have no idea how long I've been wanting to do that!" he said in a seductive tone and kissing me once more. My face blushed a bright red after that because this has been something I've dreamed of since middle school!

"Wait so then does this mean we're dating?" He asked

"I don't know..." I said." I know I kissed you first but now that I know how you feel about me, give me a day or two to think things through if that's okay with you?"

"Yes of course don't rush at all!" he said as he pulled me into a comforting hug. I couldn't help but smile. I was so short compared to him it made me feel so little. Afterward, we went back downstairs to eat dinner and it was so interesting seeing Kageyama with happy emotions. Well of course I've seen him happy, but this had such a light effect on me. 

~Timeskip to after dinner~

Kageyama and I went out to his backyard and we started to pass to each other with the volleyball that he had at home. Then I thought about how nice he actually is. Why is he not like this at school? He looks so grumpy and mad all the time. "You know" I started, "It's nice to see you like this."

"What's that supposed to mean?" he said holding on to the ball.

"Well, you're usually not like this at school..." Kageyama looked at me with a confused look on his face. " Ugh, don't act so dumb! You always act like you're mad! Especially when you go to the  vending machines, you act like its a life-threatening decision."

"I'm sorry I like milk!"He said with sass. 

"Ok Bakageyama" I snorted. This new perspective on him is really making me fall for him even more. I really do like him. But ill have to talk to Asahi about it first. He's like a brother to me and I have to see what he says first. 

We ended the night, one step further in what future relationship we might have and I was extremely happy. I decided to text Asahi if we could go on a walk when i came back home so I could tell him the great news, and of course, he said yes. 

~Timeskip to walk~

"OH MY GOD, YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENED TODAY!" I said jumping onto him. "WE KISSED I CANT BELIEVE WE KISSED"

"okay now stay quiet! It's practically the middle of the night. Wait, hold up... you kissed who? "  he questioned with a stern voice.

"Kageyama of course? Who else would you think?" I joked.

"Wow! That's uh-nice!" He said scratching the back of his head. Why did he look sad?

"Arent you happy for me? You know that I've liked him for such a long time!"

"Of course (y/n)! I'm always happy when you're happy" Asahi said as he hugged me. We spent the walk explaining the many events i spent at there house. He was surprised at my bold moves and wasnt even believing that I kissed him first. For some reason though, I could tell that he wasn't happy. I'm sure he's just having a bad day.

Asahi's POV: 

After mine and (y/n)'s long and exhausting conversation, I walked her back to her house and after saying our goodbyes, I decided to text Nishinoya about what happened. Noya knew that I've liked (y/n) ever since she became my neighbor when I was only in 3rd grade.  She always picks on me saying how I'm a third-year student and still don't have a girlfriend. Only because she's so busy with other boys and is so oblivious to the one that's never left her side for 10 years. If only I was as brave as (y/n) to be able to kiss her as she did with Kageyama, then maybe I would've been dating her by now. Who knows though, I'm too much of a coward to face rejection like that, especially by someone i love so much. I guess it's for the best, i could never risk ruining our frienship like that. She's too important to me.
