Robbie Kay
"Are you ready?" Robbie shouts from downstairs, you can hear the annoyance knitted into the words. You roll your eyes and look in the mirror once more, pick your phone up from the side and go downstairs quickly.
"Yeah, yeah. Keep your knickers on," you reply with a smirk, he grins and pulls you closer to him by your waist. He gazes down on you with a gentle smile and you place your arms around his neck, looking back up at him happily. He places a tender kiss on your lips making your smile grow, but worry is still visible in your eyes.
Tonight is the first time your parents would properly meet Robbie. They've seen him before and made small talk until you were ready, but they've never sat down and had a real conversation with him. Which you would love for them to do, that's why you set up tonight. You asked your mum to cook something and asked your dad to try to be nice.
Your dads the typical stay-away-from-my-daughter-if-you-want-to-live dad. You do like that your dad cares for you and loves you and 'only wants you to be safe', but when he interrogates your boyfriend and then you never see them again because they're too scared, it annoys you.
"It's going to be fine, stop worrying," Robbie says lifting your chin up and resting his forehead on yours, with a small smile. You nod and he places another kiss on your lips. He grabs his car keys and you both walk out of the house and into his car.
The drive to your house isn't that long, it's quiet too since your wrapped up in your thoughts thinking about how bad this could go. When you arrive, you go quickly up to the front door and it takes a matter of seconds for your mum to come and greet you. She hugs you both and hurries you into the dining room.
"It'll be five minutes, I just need to dish it up," she says walking into the kitchen, her cheerful voice dancing through the air. You give your dad a quick hug before taking the seat in front of him, Robbie taking the one beside you. Looking over to your, you see him glaring at Robbie as though he's turning burn a hole into him.
"Dad," you moan quietly catching his attention, he gives you a grin and starts the interrogation.
"Son, what do you want to be?" He starts, arching an eyebrow.
"I'm an actor, sir," Robbie replies proudly, making you smile.
"Oh, so you've already met your goal?" He pushes.
"I would say so, I would like to have more roles to play though," Robbie says carefully.
"Does that mean you'd be leaving town for how ever long to work?"
"Depends on where it is, sir."
"If it was out of town, does that mean you'd be leaving (Y/N) behind?" He questions with a look that could kill.
"Stop it dad," you demand, annoyed now.
But, Robbie decides to reply, "No, sir. I would ask (Y/N) to come along with me."
That curls your lips into a smile and, to your surprise, your dad looks at him in approval with his own lips in a small smile. This means your dad actually likes Robbie, and you couldn't be happier.
"Dinners ready!" Your mum perks walking in with plates of food. She sets the first two down in front of you and Robbie, then goes back for the other two. She takes her seat after coming back in, "Well, tuck in!"
You all start eating and your parents have a proper conversation with Robbie, which you've loved to listen too. As usual, your mums been sweet and kind towards him. She's only asked a few questions about him or she's complimented him on becoming the thing he wanted too.
Robbie keeps sending you happy smiles too and he seems comfortable around them both. He's not holding back and is just saying whatever he thinks. Which you've always loved about Robbie, he's his own person.
After about an hour or so, you decide to leave and head back home. You hug your parents saying goodbye and stand out of the way for Robbie to say his goodbyes too. As you're both leaving through the door, your mum stops you and you know what's coming next, their conclusion on him. You tell Robbie to wait in the car and he nods walking off.
"He's great! I really like him," your mum grins clapping her hands together making you smile uncontrollably.
"Yeah, he's alright," your dad says with his lips in a slight smile. Your roll your eyes and hug them both once more.
"Thanks for tonight, it's been great. Bye," you say walking out into the cold night breeze, waving back at them both. You walk quickly to the car and slip into its warmth.
"So?" He asks, worry now obvious in beautiful green eyes.
"They loved you!" you announce, he engulfs me into a hug and a smile erupts on his face. "I knew they would" you smile, placing a kiss on his cheek.
