Thunder sounds all around us as we drive down a road. Coach blows his whistle, making me jump. "Back to your seat." He yells at someone. Sage takes the seat in front of me, not wanting any part of the conversation I know Scott, Stiles, and I are bound to have.
"Why don't you sit with me?" I ask Sage as she settles into the seat in front of me.
She looks over and sighs. "I don't want to be a part of your supernatural hunting group or whatever, if you need me, I'm here but other than that, I'm staying out of it."
I frown a bit and curl up into a comfortable position. I look out the window, zoning out. Someone snaps next to me, pulling me out of my trance. I look over and see Stiles talking to Scott as he looks out the window. "Anachronism." Stiles says.
"Something that exists out of its normal time." Scott answers. I pick up my book and start reading, curling up in the seat.
"Nice. Next word: Incongruous."
"Um... can you use it in a sentence?" Scott asks.
"Sure. It's completely incongruous for us to be on this stupid bus headed to some useless cross country meet after what just happened." Stiles answers.
"Out of place. Ridiculous-"
I interrupt. "Absurd."
They look over at me and Stiles nods. "Perfect. Next word: Darach." Scott looks over at him the same time I do. " We gotta' talk about it sometime. And we're going to be here for the next five frigging hours." I sigh and go back to reading my book.
"Fine. Next word: Intransigent." Stiles continues.
"Stubborn, obstinate-" He hit a bump and Scott lets out a painful gasp.
"You okay?" Stiles asks.
Scott nods with a pained expression.
"We shouldn't have come." I say worriedly.
"We had to. There's safety in numbers." Scott argues.
"There's also death in numbers. They call it a massacre. Bloodbath, carnage, slaughter..." He stops when he notices that Scott isn't listening. "I'm getting Coach to stop the bus." Stiles says, starting to get up.
"No, I'm all right." Scott says, pushing him back down. I sit up and close my book.
"Well you don't look alright." I say.
"I'll be fine by the time we get to the meet." Scott assures. I lean back uneasily.
"Let me take a look at it." Stiles says.
Scott puts his hand over the wound. "I'm okay."
"If you're okay, then stop being so intransigent and let me see it." Stiles says.
Scott lifts his shirt to reveal gashs along his side, none of them healing. "Dude..." Stiles says.
"I know it looks bad, but it's because they're from an Alpha. It'll take longer to heal." Scott answers.
"Then how come Boyd and Isaac are fine?" Stiles asks.
Scott stays silent, looking out the window again. I do the same, starting to zone out again when I remember what I was told last night. "I can't believe he's gone." I say quietly, my eyes starting to water. "I can't believe Derek's dead."

"The two of you! Back in your seats. And, Jared, honestly? Car sick every single time? Every time?" Coach yells. "Just keep your eyes on the horizon line or something. McCall, you too?" Scott looks up.
