Hard

Being a writer is hard. It's staying up until one in the morning trying to figure out the knot of yarn I call a plot, it's editing while feeling like slamming my head on my desk, it's consuming enough caffeine that your whole body starts shaking, it's making up imaginary people and places without crossing the line into insanity, and its meltdown after meltdown when you realize you have to delete thousands of words and hours of work.

And yet, it's amazing. You get to see new worlds every day, you get to live a thousand lives, you get to experience the feeling of wind through your wings, you get to see soaring towers and hidden caves, its the feeling when you print out everything and see your hours of work wasn't wasted, its the satisfaction of making something that is yours and something no one can take away, its the escape from the real world and into one where your choices can actually affect something.

Being a writer is the greatest source of misery and the greatest source of joy I could ever imagine.

So thank you.
