Ruby Rose in Scooby-Doo! The Mystery Begins

Chapter 11

It was dark outside Coolsville High. The building was still scorched out front still from what happened a few days ago.

BOOM!!! Something in the school seemed to explode.

IN THE GYMNASIUM

In the school gymnasium, Fred, Velma, Daphne, Shaggy, and Scooby lay on the ground next to a recently blown up hole. The explosion managed to wake them up.

"You four okay?" Fred asked as they all stood up

"Where are we?" Daphne asked

"Looks like the gym." Fred answered

"Like, how did we get here?" Shaggy further asked

"I don't know. I can't remember anything after that green spray." Fred answered as the five walked up to the hole and looked down it

Scooby used his tail to wave away some of the smoke to clear up the view. They still couldn't see anything. All the way to the bottom, the hole seemed pitch black.

"I bet you this is the work of that phony specter." Velma stated

They then heard clapping in one of the set of bleachers and turned around to see a light was focused on The Specter.

"Bravo. Bravo, little puzzle masters. You put all the pieces together. The time capsule, it's all about the time capsule. But thanks to you, I can retrieve it without even getting my hands dirty." The Specter said, knowing fully well the group had pieced together his main goal. "Ironic, isn't it? All you were trying to do is clear your names, but all you did was get yourselves in deeper!"

The Specter then pointed at the hole behind Fred, Velma, Daphne, Shaggy and Scooby.

"Now, get down there and find me that time capsule!" The Specter boomed

"Like we'd ever help you!!!" Fred shouted

"Fine. But if you don't, you'll never see your little rose petal friend again." The Specter said as a second light came o revealing a cage that had Ruby tied up and gagged in it

Ruby was struggling to get out of the ropes and tried to yell but the gag muffled her screaming, preventing the gang from hearing what she was trying to say

"Ruby???" Shaggy said, scared for his friend's life. He then took a step forward and shouted, "You'll never get away with this, Vice Principal Grimes!!!"

"Grimes?? That was one piece of the puzzle you never managed to put into place." The Specter said as a third light came on revealing a cage with Vice Principal Grimes tied up and gagged.

The Specter then looked up as Ezekiel and Prudence floated into view.

"Ghosts, get these two out of my sight." The Specter then demanded

The two ghosts then picked up the cages without even touching the just as Ruby un-did the gag on her mouth.

"Shaggy, Scooby, help!!!" Ruby shouted as the two cages were carried off

"RUBY!!!!" Shaggy and Scooby shouted in unison as the cages then went out of view

"Just remember, humans don't have nine lives!" The Specter taunted as he laughed manically and the light over him turned off and he vanished

Fred then ran over to a door and tried to break it open, seeing chains were on it but failed to even break a single part of the chain and then went back over to the others.

"What are we gonna do???" Daphne said

"I don't know. If we actually do what he wants, I think being expelled would be the least of our worries." Velma stated as Shaggy walked over to the rope and shoved it to where the bottom falls down to the bottom of the hole
