Bloody surprise

I close my eyes for a couple of seconds before feeling the sore pain in my eyes, urging to close again. I let out a yawn and lazily take out my keys from my pocket to start the engine. I'm going to sleep so well when I'm home. I can imagine my warm and cozy bed already. The night is absolutely beautiful. The silver elegant moon decorated by the dark sky and shining stars.

It's distracting me, but luckily I see the figure soon enough to brake the car in a hurry. I'm shaking and drops of sweat formed on my forehead. Suddenly the figure collapses, making me jump out of the car. It's pitch dark outside, only the car lights are ensuring me to see the injured man leaning against the front of my car. I'm in actual shock seeing the person in this state. He's covered in blood and seems deeply in pain. 'Oh my god', are the only cliche words that escape my mouth.

'Please..help', he groans while covering his wound with both of his hands. I don't hesitate and help him get in the car. 'It will be okay, the hospital is near everything will b-be alright', I stutter in panic while driving as quickly as possible. 'No..no hospital. Please, no hospital', he says weakly and tries to grab my hands. 'I can't go to the hospital, I can't..', he keeps on saying.

I grab my head in panic and try to think. With in two seconds I turned around and drive to my place. I can't think clearly, I have to help this man. I park the car and get out. I open the car door in a hurry and help the tall men get out. He leans on my shoulder and tightly holds onto my torso. I take out my keys and open the door with sweaty hands. I drag him to the couch and run upstairs to get my tools.

I run back while almost tripping. I put my tools on the couch and look at his face. I couldn't observe him before, because of the darkness outside. His dark raven hair sticks on his sweaty forehead while he breaths heavily. 'What happened to you, can you breath properly?', I ask in a hurry while looking at him in concern. He nods weakly and groans again because of the pain. 'I'll fix this oké? Let me see your wound', I say as he pulls up his bloody shirt exposing the red spot above his hip on the left side.

I nod to myself and open the box with my medical tools. I can do this, luckily it's not the worst. 'I can do this, don't worry. The bullet scraped against your skin and didn't get in it.' My jaw drops as I realise what I'm saying. 'Hold up.. YOU GOT SHOT?!' 'I'll explain it later, please just help me', he says and bites on his lower lip, preventing to scream. I nod repeatedly and run to the kitchen for some disinfecting alcohol. I clean the needles with it, using cotton wool. 'Are you some sort of doctor?', he asks and tries to sit up. 'Sort of.'

/time skip/
I take a sip of cold water and slowly gulp down the liquid. I look at the tall mysterious man now peacefully sleeping with the blanket covering only his legs. It's around 5 in the morning, but I can't sleep after what happened this night. He kept strong and I quickly finished my job leaving some stitches. Besides that I'm not a doctor yet, it was a pretty hard job. He wasn't under narcose, which made it difficult for me not to hurt him.

I rest my head on the pillow under my head and closely look at his ethereal face next to me. My thoughts are filled with questions what might have happened to him. I'm feeling a little odd about this stranger. I sigh and close my eyes. I have to stop thinking negatively, he seems harmless.

After a couple seconds I'm already dozing off to a dream. I'm walking through a dark hall and it seems pretty familiar. It's vague, I can't see it clearly. Suddenly I hear a loud noice ringing in the hall. I open my eyes in shock. Again I hear that sound, but then I realise it's someone at the door. I stand up and casually walk towards the door to open it.

Suddenly I turn around and notice someone missing. It's the stranger. He folded up the blanket and left. 'Open the damn door.' I startle from the sudden voice, which I'm sure I never heard before. I carefully walk to the door and take a deep breath before opening it. But when I did, I realise that I made a huge mistake.
