It'd been a good while since the herd had settled down in their new environment, there were nice neighbors, loads of grassy patches, a place to call home indeed.
But months ago, Ellie had announced that she was an expecting mother, which caught the whole herd off guard, including her husband Manny and since then it had been a bit chaotic.
Hazel was walking beside Ellie, feeling more or less excited by the news, which didn't go unnoticed.
"You really are excited, huh?" Ellie stared down at the saber with a smirk as she pranced around; "I announced this months ago."
"It could happen any day now!!" She let out eagerly, "I can't wait to be an aunt!!"
Her mood quickly changed when she saw some small kids not far off run in the opposite direction, making her sigh loudly, "I feel like I'm scaring other villagers, they always seem to scatter you know?"
"Well, I'm certain you're not the only one who gives them a fright," she began jokingly, until a loud "thud" echoed across the ground; "Speaking of..."
Flinching at the sound, Hazel glanced up at the mammoth who simply smirked down before walking over towards the location and followed behind quickly.
"Ellie, where are you?!"
They both walked through the last set of trees to see Ellie's husband stumble around with a shell on his head with Sid stuck onto his behind.
"WHERE AM I?!?!"
"Manny," Ellie lightly calls out, making him instantly turn towards her voice, with Sid falling off as she continues; "I told you it was just a kick."
The male mammoth soon removed the shell off his head, revealing the possum brothers on his face before they slid off, falling to the ground as well.
It didn't take long for Hazel quickly noticed a certain saber not with them.
"Oh, right!;" Manny chuckled awkwardly; "Right hehe,"
Hazel just eyed him as he got down and talked in a childlike manner to 'the baby', glancing up at Ellie who simply sighed lightly and it took a few seconds for him to realize there was a crowd around them all.
"Sorry, folks false alarm!; It was just a kick!"
The majority of the crowd groaned as they walked off in a huff;
"You know who I'd like to kick?"
"That's the third false alarm this week."
"All right, show's over, break it up!" Sid walked around weakly shooing the crowd before his eyes fell onto a beaver; "I see someone else who has a bun in the oven!"
She backed up with an offended gasp as she exclaimed; "I'm not pregnant!" and bonked him on the head with the stick.
"That's too bad; you'd make a wonderful mother!"
Hazel winced when she just threw the stick at him, knocking him to the ground before chuckling awkwardly as Crash and Eddie laugh at the sight.
"Manny, I know you're excited. I am too;" Ellie began to her husband who nodded; "But you're getting a little carried away."
"Okay, okay!; Manny sighs sheepishly; "Boy, you're starting to sound like Diego."
A few moments later he notices; "Wait a second; where is Diego?"
"Perhaps hunting," Hazel shrugged at the question.
"Boy, he's been hunting a lot lately." Sid brought up, "must have a big appetite."
