peter alfonse gwyne
There was just something that was repulsive about Peter's aunt, maybe it was her bleach blonde hair she was sporting or the horrible nail polish that was brushed along her fake nails, it could also be the fake giggle that would escape her stained lips but over all Amanda Gwyne is fake and that was all that was running through Peters head as she sat across from her aunt who was starting on their dinner.
"Peter, you're a feminist right" Amanda makes the words that leave her mouth sound more like a statement then question, "that means you hate men, true?"
Peters sighs, propping her elbows onto the kitchen island and lowering her chin to rest in her hands, "that statement is, in fact, false but it is not necessarily downgrading on your behalf seeing as people often believe that being a feminist is to hate men" licking her lips slowly, Peter continues, "if i were to hate men, despise men, dance on mens graves i would be a misandrist, i am not a misandrist, i would like to avoid downgrading the opposite gender"
Peter's aunt nods along as she stirs the pot of soup, "so as a feminist, what do believe?".
As a bystander you would be able to see a spark ignite in Peters eyes as she tosses over her words carefully before speaking, feminism is a topic that Peter often speaks about, its something that she's very proud of and felt very strongly abouy, "feminism is the belief that woman should be held as intellectual and social equals to men, to support feminism you can in fact be male but it is mainly associated with woman"
Despite the fact that Amanda was clearly ignoring Peter she continues, "being a feminist usually means that you also believe that everyone is entitled to freedom and 'liberty', with in reason of course.
"Wow" Amanda nods despite the fact that she didn't take in one word that Peter had said, "fascinating, enlightening, well worded"
Regret suddenly started to pulsate through Peters body, why did she agree to helping her patronizing aunt? And even though the whole family would be arriving at Amanda's small blue house in a matter of minutes it was still a overwhelming experience. After spending hours with her aunt Peter was actually excited to see her mother, the mother that left her ex because he wasn't as eco-friendly as Lavender would have liked, Quote 'you think being eco-friendly is a chore when its actually a lifestyle. What bin does this can go in? Oh thats right! You dont even know', unquote. That fight was mentally scarring on the thirteen year old version of Peter, she was left worried that if she put glass in the rubbish instead of the recycling she would be kicked out with the same words repeated to her and from then up until she moved out Peter made sure to do everything in her power to be as eco-friendly as possible, that included riding her bike instead of catching the bus, lighting the fire instead of turning on the heater and sorting through the rubbish to make sure it was in the correct bin.
"are you listening to me" Amanda scolds, ignoring the fact that the comment was infact hypocrytical seeing as she didnt listen to word Peter had said about feminism. Often Amanda tried to act like a parental figure to Peter even though Peter was used to having no guardians, "set the table"
Moving from the stool Peter sighs, picking up the pile of dishes, "how long will the dinner thing be"
"i dont know" Amanda snaps before apologizing quickly, "oh look, your family friends are here, finish with the table and you can greet them"
Cursing under her breath Peter messily lays out the plates and cutlery before moving off the say hello to the guests. Peters family (and friends) were very, well, eccentric, they drank, conversed over some very interesting topics and sang along to the spice girls - all except Lavender who despised five woman showing so much skin.
"would you look who it is" Luke hums, shoving Peter's shoulder, "i recently responded to your text on the topic of the spice girls and i only just realized how wrong i was"
Peter quirks an eyebrow, "so you dont prefer scary spice?"
"I think Baby Spice is more my type, talented, blonde, slim, cute, naive, hot" Luke pushes past Peter and moves towards the living room, causing Peter to follow in suite, "are you sticking with Posh or?"
Peter collapses back on the sofa in pleasure, finally able to escape her aunt, "I feel for Posh, ya' know? You see, obviously her talent as a vocalist wasn't up to the high standards of the others which made me kinda gravitate towards her but i relate more to sporty spice and she obviously is the most talented spice girl"
"I understand where you are coming from, Peter" Pushing a pillow behind his head Luke sighs, "but you're wrong, almost as wrong as the time you said you could beat me at just dance"
"but i did beat you at just dance" Peter points out, trying to ignore Amanda calling her name in that fake voice she uses when guests are around.
Luke stands up abruptly, pulling Peter up with him, "that is besides the point dear friend of mine, i am correct, you are incorrect, end of discussion"
"dismissive" Peter smirks, sitting back down on the couch and crossing her arms, she tried to ignore how Luke's eyes wandered to her chest and then hesitantly travelled back to her face, "i bet you're very kinky"
"wouldn't you like to know" Luke jokes, smacking her forehead gently, "anyway, i believe your mother has arrived and im very excited to see what flower crown she is sporting today"
Groaning slightly Peter follows Luke into the dining room where she spots her mother holding a man's hand, his hair in dreadlocks and a swipe of zinc across his nose but Luke interrupt's her thoughts with a comment on Lavenders flower crown, "daisies i see"
Lavender smiles slightly, her eyed flicking around the room before nervously landing on her daughter, "Peter, this is Alex, my boyfriend"
