Harry's POV

The day to go back to Hogwarts finally arrived. We went
through the wall at King Cross station straight to platform 9 ¾, meeting with the Hogwarts Express as soon as we led a foot on the platform.

I went in to find a compartment while Hermione and Ron were saying goodbye to their parents. Hermione had found her parents and had restored their memories after the war.

Soon I found a compartment and went in; I was ready to put my backpack besides me but something inside me told me not to so I placed it at the self above my seat. I could see Hermione and Ron hugging and saying
goodbye to their parents and at that moment I wished that I could be at the platform hugging my parents or loved ones. I know that the Weasleys were like my
family too but I couldn't get that thought out of my mind.

A couple of minutes later someone walked in the
compartment. I knew that I couldn't be Hermione or Ron because they were on prefect duty and that they wouldn't be joining me for another hour.

I looked up and I was met with a pair of beautiful grey
eyes looking at me.

Draco's POV

As I walked outside of the compartments I could see how people were looking at me with a judgmental look on their faces, not that I blamed them.

As I walked into, what I thought was an empty compartment, and I was met with a pair of emerald green eyes.

Harry and I made eye contact for a few seconds when I decided to speak up.

"Oh em sorry... eh can I sit here with you every other
compartment is full." I said with hesitation. I mean I would perfectly understood why he wouldn't want me sitting with him after everything I did; but a little part of me hopped that he would say yes.

"Yeah, I don't see why not" he said like it was perfectly
normal. I was a bit shocked yet relieved.

"Thank you" I said while shooting him a warm smile
which he returned. I closed the door behind me and I sat down beside him for an unknown reason.

A few minutes went by and all I wanted to do was apologize for everything I did. For every stupid nickname I called him, for every trouble I put him in, for not being nicer when I wanted to, for picking up on him and his friends. I was debating with myself for several minutes when I finally decided that I was going to do it.

I turned around and now we were face-to-face.

"Look Potter I-I'm sorry for everything. Could we maybe
put that all behind us? I perfectly understand if you don't wan-"

"I would like that." He said and put out his hand for me. I shook his hand. Two minutes went by and I was bored so I tried to make conversation with him.

"So Potter where is Granger and Weasley?"

"Prefect's duty but they will be joining us in half-hour or so."

"Do you think I should go? I mean they don't like me,
obviously, and I don't want to ruin your ride."

"Nonsense, besides you are my... friend..." At that point I stopped listening to him. Friend I kept thinking to myself. Friends with Harry Potter, the person I tried to befriend almost 8 years ago, the person I had a massive crush on for Salazar knows how long.

"Malfoy? Is everything alright?" he asked and I snapped out of my thoughts.

"Yea I was just thinking. What did you say?"

"Well I said that you should stay" he said while blushing slightly which made me smile.

"If you insist" I said and he smiled at me, making my heart flutter.
