you knew lay from high school. The first day of the first year of high school, you were seated behind a quiet boy who introduced himself as Lay. It wasnt like at first sight. But your crush on him grew as your worked on projects together and discussed homework together. When you hoped to see him everyday, you knew that you had a crush on him. But you knew that both of your had your studies as a top piority and relationships were at the back of your minds now. You wanted to confess to him badly but you were afraid to lose this friendship.
In the 2nd year, you were lucky enough to be in the same class as him again. But wierdly enough, you and lay never talked in class. Especially in the 2nd year as the both of your were not sitted near to each other like last year. Along the year, you wanted to confess to him again as you were afraid that your will not be in the same class again. You were afraid to lose him and your friendship. But you didnt have enough courage to confess to him, so you had to hold in your confession. You had other crushes along the way but you knew you still had feelings for lay as you felt jealous whenever he talked to other girls. But at night, you would chat with him on the phone and discuss with him homework again. There was this period of time where your 2 talked frequently at night and you thought that maybe there was this slim chance that he liked you back. However, knowing Lay's quiet personality, you knew that even if he liked you, he would be too shy to even tell you and may just keep it in his heart. So you were hoping and hoping that 1 day he might just tell you"I like you too".
But year 3 came and went by but the something in between you and lay became even more diluted. You gave up impressing him and trying to get close to him as you lost your hope in waiting for him.
In year 4, after the end of your exams, you dragged him to the back stairs and told him what you ahd been hiding for 4 years. " I like you." expectedly, lay started blushing. " i dont know if you like me back. 4 years ago, if you told me that your answer was yes, i would have hugged you like mad. But now, since we are parting ways, i just wanted to know...... if you had ever liked me before." " I dont know what to say. But my answer is yes. I was scared that you were so focused on your studies that you will reject me.I'm sorry." You hugged him and withdrew before he could wrapped his arms around you. " Lets just leave this as a memory shall we? After all we will be going down different paths. Goodbye Lay. " Before he could reply you you walked away. Finally you could put him down.
