SUNNY ALBRIGHT had always known she was different. Ever since she was born, she could do things that the other kids couldn't. Her mother always reassured her that her powers were a good thing. She learnt to control them and keep them hidden from her peers. However, when Sunny was thirteen years old, her mother passed away, leaving her in the custody of her grandmother, Camille. With her powers only growing stronger and getting harder to control, Camille had to seek out help from Reginald Hargreeves. Sunny was sent to live with seven other kids, just like her, all with exceptional abilities. She was given the name, Number Eight, making her the newest member of The Umbrella Academy.
It was difficult for Sunny at first, she was surrounded by new people and was still dealing with the death of her mother, but things started to get easier with time and Sunny grew accustomed to her new environment. She eventually grew closer to the other children at the academy, that was all except for Diego who seemed determined to be better than her at everything. The rivalry between the two of them lasted for the entirety of Sunny's time at the academy and she hated it. She hated Diego.
Sunny never imagined she'd ever be back at the academy after she finally was able to leave. However, after finding out that her mentor, Reginald Hargreeves, had passed away, Sunny makes the decision to go back. The last thing she expected was to get wrapped up in trying to save the world alongside the person who infuriated her the most. And she definitely didn't think she'd start to develop feelings for the man she hated.
