As I enter the doors of the BAU for only the second time, I feel more relaxed as I see JJ's face.
I smile at her as I walk towards the coffee.
I had only gotten about 4 hours of sleep last night because of my inability to put down the phone from talking to Lexie.
I grab a cup and pour the hot liquid into it. I grab a couple sugars and walk over to my desk.
There was more talking then there was work being done. I didn't mind. I had finished all the files on my desk yesterday and there were only 8 new ones that I could easily finish within an hour.
I sat down at my desk and set my bag down.
"Hey Kara!" Derek smiles. "Have a rough night?"
I quickly realize he's referring to the bags under my eyes. God knows what he's thinking of.
"I was calling my cousin." I roll my eyes and laugh.
""And how was she?" JJ asked trying to make me feel more comfortable.
"She's good. She's excited that I got in the BAU and wants to meet you guys sometime l." I reply. I cross my legs and smooth over my shirt.
"You guys could come to game night next week." Spencer suggests. I look over at him and smile.
"That's the thing, she lives across the country." I cock my head to the side.
"Oh. I'm sorry I thought she lived close." Spencer apologized. He looked a bit sad after I broke that news.
"I would be happy to go though!" I quickly smiled trying to make Spencer feel better. I look up at him. His hair was still a bit messy for someone who looked so professional.
His autumn eyes shot up to mine and his smile became wide.
"Does this game night have a destination?" I ask with a smile.
"We're having it at JJ's." Garcia answers as she runs up and gives me another hug.
I awkwardly smile as she let's go of me and try not to make it obvious that I really wanted to wash my hands.
"Your back!" Her face lights up. "We didn't scare you off!"
I laugh and take a sip of my coffee. I really needed more caffeine if I was going to stay awake the whole day.
Just as I get up to go refill my cup I see Hotch step out of his office.
"We have a case." Hotch announced his voice serious and stern.
I watch as the rest of the team pours into the meeting room and sits down in their seats.
Garcia steps into the room and hands everyone but me and Spencer their tablets. She sets down two paper files down in the middle.
I grab one and open in it up and immediately begin to read it.
"Three young women have been murdered in Seattle Washington. Each in their early 30's and have dirty blonde hair. They all have been to medical school but only one of them became an actual doctor." Garcia explained while pictures of their faces and bodies pop up on the tv screen.
"What's the MO?" Morgan asks.
I flip to the back of the file where the pictures of their bodies are.
All three of their bodies are laying on the concrete and been shot execution style. There's a message carved into each on of their arms.
Give me the woman Dr. or else
"What does the message mean?" I ask looking around the room waiting for someone to respond.
"Well he hasn't met me so we know he's not talking about me. Maybe a medical doctor?" Spencer suggests. His leg is propped up on the table as his body is relaxed in a chair.
"I'll get a list of medical doctors but there's probably a couple thousand in the Seattle area." Garcia volunteered.
"Narrow it down to Dr.s who are done with their intern year. My guess is because the women are in their early 30's the actual object of the unsubs rage is already done with her intern year.
"Ok. Get your go bags. Wheels up in 30." Hotch directs as we flow out of the room.
My first case.
