The sun was shining through the windows, but not many students had risen from their beds. Delphinia and Sirius had certainly not left the comfort of one another's arms on the couch. A few second years had come down to the common room to stretch or take time to wake up.
"There you are Delphinia!" A girl's voice exclaimed.
Delphinia jerked up, and fell off the couch: A large goose egg had appeared instantly on her forehead, having knocked it on the coffee table beside her.
"I'm so sorry!" The girl said.
"Wha- what's going on?" Sirius said, sitting up and rubbing his eyes. After a moment's silence, Sirius realized Delphinia was on the ground and reached out to help her up, although he couldn't keep a smirk off his face or a chuckle from slipping.
"Thanks," Delphinia muttered, running her hand over the large bump on her head.
"Delphinia, I really am sorry," the girl said.
"Carri, you needed something?" Delphinia snapped.
"I, uh, I was looking for you because you never came to the dorm last night," Carri said.
"Well obviously you didn't have to look to hard considering the only place you could've already looked is your own room," Delphinia said.
Carri glanced toward Sirius, then blushed. She nodded, coughed, then spun on her heel and ran back up to the girls' dormitories.
Sirius smirked and turned to Delphinia. "That was kind of mean."
"Well she wasn't even looking for me, and yet I'm the one who ended up with a lump on my head" Delphinia laughed.
"What?" Sirius said confused.
"Sirius, she likes you," Delphinia said. "She thinks we're together, so she tries to stop us in any intimate activities."
"You mean like this?"
Suddenly, Sirius tackled her on the couch tickling her: Delphinia was red and out of breath from laughing so much when Sirius finally let up.
Sitting side by side on the couch, both red-faced and smiling, Delphinia said, "That just proves my point."
"Well, well, well," Lily and James said in unison.
Delphinia and Sirius both jerked their heads toward both the red head and the black haired marauder.
"I thought you were supposed to be sleeping in your own beds," Lily said, smirking.
"I did as well," James agreed, also smirking.
"You two better get upstairs and get ready for classes," Remus said, for he had come up from behind James.
Delphinia let out an embarrassing gasp. Everyone, including Sirius, turned to look at her. "I am going to- er- go get ready," Delphinia slurred. She got up quickly and edged past Lily up to her dormitory.
"Did that seem a little weird to you guys?" James asked.
"No, it seemed perfectly normal," Lily said sternly. After making harsh eye contact with all three boys, she headed up after Delphinia.
Once in her dormitory, Lily found Delphinia sitting at the edge of her bed. Marlene was still asleep, Carri Wood was getting dressed, and Kim Cooper was talking to Delphinia on the floor in front of her bed.
When Lily shut the door, both Kim and Delphinia looked up. "What was that, Delph?"
"It was two friends having a bit of fun," Delphinia said.
