The Plains of Eurasia
The wavy, green grass swayed back and forth, the scent of fresh spring flowers traveled peacefully through the clear evening sky. On a small hill that sits above a small field below, is a tiny little house. Made of wood and other natural materials, it's rustic brown color contrasts heavily with the nearby green vegetation. Next to the cabin is an outhouse and a little quaint shed. The shed is also attached to a fence where a horse rests.
Inside is only one room, a white mattress that is covered with handmade quilted covers and wooden table with two chairs sitting across from another. A makeshift kitchen is present, containing a small collection of pots and pans. A rusted stove oven hums with heat as a meal is being prepped inside. All the while a lime hair colored woman, who is standing all alone, cuts some vegetables. On the table sits a radio, the station that's currently playing a news station covering the recent events in Japan.
"Authorities began search and rescue efforts here in the city of Tokyo about a couple of hours ago. Unfortunately, according to our own witness accounts, most of the things uncovered were the bodies of the deceased. The country of Japan is still experiencing a complete communications blackout, however, Prince Schneizel did go on record with us by saying."
"General Cornelia and her forces have been dispatched, we have been told that they crossed into Japanese airspace too long ago. But with the communications issue still plaguing our forces there, I have made the decision to send in the Glinda Knight division, led by Special Commander Oldrin Zevon. Once we have re-established communications between Japan and the rest of the world, I can promise you that the U.F.N will work tirelessly to ensure that the people of Japan are given the relief they desperately need."
The news reporter continues to talk about further speculation about the ongoing situation, while she tends to her food. She gathers a plate and proceeds to place it on the table. She takes a seat and clasps her hands together, Please grace this meal, please allow me another day of a peaceful life. The woman concludes her prayer before beginning to eat.
As the woman eats her meal, she looks out the window. In the distance she can see snow covered mountain tops, their peaks look as if they reach far into the space beyond. She envied those peaks. How they were able to rise above the rest of the world, how they were able to free from everything else. She twirls her hair in her fingers, the individual locks it flowing gently through her grasp. She ponders herself a question while sipping from a glass of wine. Why did it end this way? She thought this over and over again.
Soon the setting sun disappears behind the mountains that she was so jealous of, and now the moon takes the bright star's place. The young woman now finds herself in bed, she wraps herself tightly in the blanket she had knitted. Being alone in these plains had given her much time to pick up new skills and hobbies, Well I never thought that someone like me would enjoy the mundane task of looping fabric over and over again. She chuckled herself before the heavy feeling in her eyes started to weigh in.
"Tell me do you know why snow is white?" a female voice spoke out.
The young woman twists and turns at the sound of the question being asked. She can feel her heart starting to beat ever bit faster.
"It's because it forgot what color it once was." the same femine voice answered.
Sweat starts dripping down her forehead, her body starts to shake with fear and pain. Please.... Please.... Just stop this. She pleads to whatever higher power may hear her. She holds herself tightly, wrapping herself with the blanket, her heart feels almost as if it's going to beat out her chest.
