Sasuke and Sakura had been in Ine for a few days already when Sasuke had finally started getting up without someone assisting him, his eyes flashed open at dawn of the 3rd day of them being there. He was waiting for the feeling that the walls were about to start spinning, but they never did. "That should be a good sign..." Sasuke thought to himself.
His eyes wandered around the room. The past few days were a blur. He remembered sitting in the field with Sakura, and their shoulders brushing. He was growing quite fond of that moment.
He remembered the white haired girl, and how incredibly short she was. She was young, maybe 16? And she mentioned to Sakura that she was a village leader? There had to be something there. Why was Kakashi so trusting with such a young girl?
The past few days were drawing a blank. He couldn't recall much, besides seeing Sakura put on a brown wig. The length of her hair was reminding him of their childhood, when she grew her hair out. He couldn't decide which length he liked more on Sakura, her long hair or short. The short hair fit her personality better.
Sasuke sat up from bed, looking around the room. He was expecting to see Sakura lurking around, keeping an eye on him. But she was nowhere to be seen. Which was surprising. She has been hovering over him for the past few days, making sure he had been eating and drinking water.
He heard a soft knock on the door, he waited. Figuring that Sakura would just allow herself in; like normal. But the person behind the door did not open it, as if they were waiting for a response.
"Enter." Sasuke muttered, throwing the blankets off of him. Sasuke was wearing a white t-shirt and black shorts. Someone had changed him since he had been here, and he didn't know how he felt about that thought.
"Sasuke." A slightly unfamiliar voice spoke as they entered the room. It was the white haired girl. His eyes narrowed: he couldn't recall her name. "I'm glad to see you're finally fully awake." She said with a smile, placing herself against the wall across from him. Her arms were crossed, her stance was as if she was trying to put on a show of dominance. "Sakura went around the village to get accustomed to it. She'll be back soon." She muttered, locking eyes with Sasuke. "I wanted to talk to you without a lurking pair of ears."
Sasuke stared back at her. She appeared about 16 or so- she had such a round baby face. Her bright blue eyes were staring back at him- as if she was trying to pierce through him. But she held a sense of wisdom around her- that maybe her age was not as young as she appeared.
"How are you doing mentally?" She asked. "I know you probably wouldn't want to have this discussion around Sakura. But I have to ask. You're part of my village for the time being- and from what I've understood about your... history.... Is that you've been through a lot."
"I'm doing fine." Sasuke muttered. He wasn't one to discuss what goes through his mind with just anyone- especially a stranger.
"And I'm under the belief that you are most definitely, 2not, fine." The girl argued, placing her hands on her hips. "Based on the reports I had received from Kakashi on how you were doing in jail, don't think I wasn't aware of that, and that Sakura said she had come into the room due to you screaming." Screaming? "I was here giving her a break from watching you because you were emotionally draining her. You would be screaming things, and would wake her up or stop her from what she was doing, and she would take care of you. She spent hours studying the brain and how PTSD affects it."
Sasuke's eyes narrowed again, he couldn't recall waking up in the middle of his sleep screaming. He was having dreams about Itachi... and his family. But he didn't realize that he was screaming. "From what I've understood- is that you have never really healed from your past. And I'm offering you a person to come to if you want. I know what it's like to lose people."
