it was a dark, brooding day. Draco piled his trunk and owl cage onto the cramped train and sat down with an aggressive sigh. it was his third year at Hogwarts and he was already bored of the wretched school.
he was in a separate compartment to his 'friends', trying to seek refuge from Pansy Parkinson who was trying yet again to catch his interest. it was quiet on his own, he almost missed having someone to talk to.
as if someone had heard his thoughts, a flustered girl practically flew into the compartment and pulled down the curtain on the door window; as if she was hiding from someone. she turned around putting her back against the door and slowly slumped
down onto the ground. tears were flowing down her cheeks at a fast pace and she seemed completely oblivious to the fact she wasn't alone in the compartment.Draco was dumbfounded. not only had she not realised he was there, but he also had no clue who she was. he was stuck between making it known he was there and letting her cry in peace.
suddenly, the crying subsided and the girl looked up at Draco with her glassy eyes. he was shocked by her strong stare and that she didn't back down when he gave a steely stare back.
she seemed unfazed and instead of leaving him be, she sat down and began intently looking at him."sorry for disturbing you, that horribly pansy girl thought it would be funny to make fun of me for being the only slytherin in my family." the girl said with a half hearted smile.
"don't worry, i'm hiding from her as well. she seems to think that i'm madly in love with her or something absurd." Draco lightly chuckled.
she seemed more relaxed by this and slumped slightly in her seat. Draco took this as a moment to properly look at her. her long (y/h/c) hair was slightly wavy, just enough to frame her face and her (y/e/c) eyes were big and beautifully innocent.
"oh! i'm so sorry, i completely forgot to introduce myself. i'm (y/n, y/l/n)."
"i'm Draco, Draco Malfoy." he said in a monotone, bored voice.
she scoffed at his statement, as if he was staring the obvious rather than being polite.
"everyone knows who you are, you're the slytherin prince!"
draco was slightly taken aback by this remark. he knew people called him that, but they'd
never said it to his face before.the rest of the journey was spent in somewhat uncomfortable silence. she spent most of her time reading an issue of the daily prophet and silently laughing at the moving photos on the front page. Draco spent the entire journey looking out of the window at the endless green surrounding the train.
