Secrets - One Republic

"Wait," I interrupted, "if this is going to be one of your stories then can we at least get some snacks first?"
"She has a point," Danny supported me.
"Your father was a Mafia Don." He blurted as he chose to ignore us.
"Not blunt...at all," Uncle George muttered in a voice that dripped with sarcasm.
I let out a nervous shaky laugh, "The mafia? Really?" I turned to look at Joe who had turned pale.
"Knight. That's your real last name,"
Charles had a serious expression on his face, making me stop laughing.
"What do you mean? Our last name is Hansen," I asked
"That's just a cover. It has been a cover for your family for many decades now...your father was a good Don. People respected him and were loyal to him not because they were afraid of him but because they looked up to him."
"Which mafia?" It was Joshua's turn to ask.
"The English mafia,"
I snorted at that. "The English mafia? What do they do? Sit around and drink tea with crumpets?"
"Oh no my dear," Charles laughed.
"And why are you telling us now?" Joe crossed his arms on his chest with a frown etched onto his brows.
"Turquoise, that accident...it was no accident,"
I was shocked, "Wait, how-"
"Word travels very fast in the underworld my dear,"
"So if it wasn't an accident then what was it?" I sat up straight which was rather more difficult than I thought because of the chair's inviting comfiness.
"A few years ago your father -Arthur- signed a contract with the Don of the Greek mafia. Things went wrong-"
"What do you mean things went wrong?" I narrowed my eyes at him as I cut him off.
Charles sighed and continued, "Arthur was supposed to help them ship some guns, ammunition and drugs into the country secretly and they would give him a whole shipment of brand new cars and guns in return. The deal would go on for some months,"
"And?"
"The first shipment of guns, ammunition and drugs went missing. The Greek Don lost tons of money and he went crazy, he thought Arthur had sold everything and kept the money. He called off the deal promised he would be back for what was his...I guess he's back now."
"That still doesn't explain the explosion." I reminded him.
"He's just simply telling us that he's out there...watching, waiting. I guess I could say he's taunting us."
The door suddenly opened and the mystery man from earlier appeared.
"What the- Derek," I stage whispered as I kept my eyes on the man.
"What?" He whispered back.
"Do you know that man?"
"Why would I know him?"
"I think there's a portal behind that door,"
"I don't think there is,"
"Then how did he get here?" I pointed to mystery man, still whispering.
