Tired - Alan Walker ft. Gavin James

"You have a way of closing these curtains that no one else has."
Derek mumbled to himself but his words still reached my ears and I sighed and held back an eyeroll as I focused on closing the curtains. Here we go with sad words to keep me around.
"For crying out loud Derek pull yourself together," I huffed.
"I'm sorry for not being enough for you."
I set my lips in a tight line, trying to think of something to say but couldn't think of anything.
"Do you really love him? I know you never loved me and I just want to know if you genuinely love him," even when he was a bit drunk his voice still cracked with sadness.
I walked over to the middle of the bedroom where Derek stood and helped him take off the leather jacket he wore...one of his favourites. He reeked of alcohol but I could still smell a hint of his cologne which had become my favourite scent ever since I had met him...I blushed at that.
I cleared my throat. "Change into your pajamas, brush your teeth and go to bed."
"Stop talking like you're my stepmother, I hate it when you do that," Derek said as he pushed past me with a pout on his face.
He got into his bed still in his black jeans and black muscle-hugging t-shirt and covered his head with the duvet leaving only his face out in the open...I almost snickered at how adorable he looked. I turned to leave but Derek's sad, drunk and tired voice stopped me at the door and I turned back.
"You never answered my question,"
"What question Derek?"
"Stop with the games Tu, do you love him?" His voice sounded more drowsy by the second.
"Goodnight Derek. Sweet dreams."
I switched off the light and pulled the door, remembering not to fully close it and went downstairs to the living room.
"He's asleep?" Derek's younger brother Daniel asked me.
"Yeah he is, thanks for bringing him home Danny,"
"Oh it was no problem really,"
"How's everything going with the company?" I asked as I folded my arms on my chest.
"Everything's going great...it's exhausting though, at least now I know why Der never wanted to fully take over," he said with a chuckle.
I laughed, "Well have fun,"
Danny rolled his eyes in a playful manner as he headed to the front door. "Yeah sure, bye Tu."
"Bye Danny."
I switched on the alarm system as I heard the distant sound of Danny's Lamborghini as he exited the gates. I grabbed my phone and laptop from the kitchen and switched off the lights as I ascended the stairs to go to my bedroom. After getting ready for bed I opened my laptop and tried to type a few more chapters of my book but my mind kept drifting off to drunk and sad Derek's question.
Did I really love Philip?
Yeah, of course I did
Philip and I had been dating for 3 years and yes we loved each other very much, maybe we would have actually gotten engaged if it was for that stupid contract. Just then my phone vibrated on the nightstand and I grabbed it to see a text message.
