"Are you ready? I mean this is a pretty big first step," Derek said from beside me.

"Well who am I to deprive the poor soul of a war he asked for?" I gave him a reply without looking away from the window.

"Tu,"

I then turned my head and looked him in the eyes. "Derek,"

"Are you ready?"

I looked back out the window and answered him, "I don't know."

His thumb caressed my hand.

We were holding hands on the seat between us.

"You make those earrings look even more stunning,"

I smiled and realised something. I looked back at my husband, "You picked them,"

"Yeah,"

"How did you know I would love them?"

He looked back at me with a smirk on his lips, "We've lived together for two years, of course I would know your taste inside and out." He wiggled his eyebrows playfully.

The moment I registered the last part of his sentence I gasped and pulled my hand away from his. I swatted Derek's arm and he simply laughed, I couldn't help but chuckle as well.

This was why I had chosen to ride with Derek...he knew how to calm my nerves. If I were alone I would have had a panic attack the moment we left the base.

The plan was that I would arrive at the cafe, wait for the Greek Mafia Don to notice me and then leave...whilst in the mean time back at the base Ken would give the green light for the missiles to be launched. It would only take a few minutes for word to reach Ambrosia's ears about the utter destruction of his brand new yatch and by that time we will only have 2 minutes to leave the cafe. Ambrosia will automatically know the meaning of the explosion.

We arrived at the deluxe cafe and Shaun opened my door. I got out of the rover and we made our way towards the entrance...Shaun, Timmy, Nixon, Benjamin and I.

I was proud to say that I had actually gotten to know my new bodyguards a little bit over the past few days. Timmy was a big and buff guy who was actually the softest teddy bear on the inside...well, to me at least. Nixon and Benjamin had been friends since they were kids and Carlos Vittori, the former Don of the Italian Mafia, had taken them under his wing after their orphanage was burnt down, they were only teenagers at that time.

After being shown our -I mean my- reserved table I sat down and the guys except for Shaun who also sat down beside me remained standing, hovering around me.

I really felt powerful. I felt like I ruled the world...cliché, I know.

It's my world and you're just living in it.

I was dressed in a grey sleeveless body hugging dress that reached my calves, cute silver gloves that were made from fine silk, a pair of black pointed heels, my new earrings, shades that literally covered half of my face and a wide sun hat.

Our table was situated outside and it was quite a sunny day. The shades were meant to add a mysterious and 'don't even dare look in my direction' vibe and the gloves were meant to prevent me from leaving my fingerprints everywhere.

"Target at 12 o'clock." Shaun said to me in a hushed voice.

I looked forward and directly in my line of sight a young man got up from his seat and left his table revealing the one and only Alexander Ambrosia -a man who looked so sexy he could've been mistaken for a greek god- seated at that table.

I stopped breathing for a moment.

I was staring at the man who had taken my parents away from me and left me as an orphan.

I felt a chill run through my blood vessels even though the atmosphere was quite warm.

Mr Ambrosia motioned for one of his bodyguards to come closer and he whispered something into the man's ear, a few minutes later a traditional green tea cup was placed in front of him.

I just wished he would choke on that tea.

"The missile has been fired, ma'am." Shaun said to me.

A few moments later one of Ambrosia's men whispered something into the leader's ear with a shocked look on his face.

Bullseye.

I mentally smirked.

Alexander's face only seemed to harden when he was informed about the destruction of his brand new yatch. His eyes then began to search the area and they met mine. The smirk that made it's way onto his face looked vicious but it didn't phase me.

Game on.

Well then, that's that...we had achieved our goal. I stood up with Shaun and we left the cafe. Shaun opened the car door for me and I got in.

"She lives...thank the heavens. I don't know what I would've done if you had died," said Derek.

"Uhhh marry another woman?"

"Nah. I'd still be married to your ghost,"

"And you wouldn't mind being married to my ghost?" I asked him with a laugh.

"Nope," he grinned, "it would be fun introducing people to my wife and then a ghost appears."

I smiled, "You're insane,"

"And so is the world we live in." Derek retorted.

"The war has begun," Roman said to me as we entered the base.

It was actually crazy that this whole thing had started with a simple but also not-so-simple contract and then the disappearance of a cargo ship...leading to the termination of the contract.

According to the dictionary a contract is a binding agreement between two or more people. Now, in the underworld if one person fails to keep their end of the agreement the other person(s) can start a war...just to get even.

So what exactly was this?

A contract war.

That's what is was.
