It was a week into their practice when they received an invite to play against Aoba Johsai. Hinata had arranged his schedule so that he could drop Natsu off at school before sneaking off to his morning practice since both he and Murae passed the tryout. Their introduction to their teammates was awkward since he already knew two of them. One who he confessed to and the other one who confessed their thoughts to him.

The only good news was that he found out who Yamaguchi was.

They took the bus to Johsai the following day. Hinata only realized then how different their school was compared to Johsai's when he'd finally seen it in real life. It was cleaner and has a grandeur edge to it, a high-class establishment for wealthy students or so to speak. He was so busy touring the school to follow the group and ended up getting lost in the process; Sugawara had to come back to get him, and once he'd entered the gym, Kageyama also started yelling at him as well.

Arriving on time for their match against Johsai, he noticed them warming up on the court. Their coach and players were on the other side, wearing those green jerseys underneath their blue shirts. Hinata also put on his own before their match start.

"Their #13 is pretty impressive, he's also really handsome," a girl whispered, looking down from the top stand.

"Isn't he? With how he plays with their #9, it's amazing to watch. They're almost like a perfect duo."

They were in the middle of a break for their second match when Hinata heard a few screaming girls. He turned to the entrance and saw a tall teen standing there wearing the same jackets he'd seen laying on the bench.

"Oikawa Tooru. I heard his serve and setting skills are almost on par with Kageyama's," Sugawara explained until Kageyama grunted from beside him. "He can perfectly read his players' conditions and is also popular with the girls if you can't already tell. Was he not your former mentor, Kageyama?"

Hinata heard Kageyama hummed behind his throat and yelled out curiously, "Y-you mean he's the king of the king?!"

"Pretty much, he used to be Kageyama's senpai," Sugawara answered.

Hinata's eyes sparkled and he turned around to look at the great king as though he'd hung up the moon. A small tug on the top of his head made him jolt, and he looked up to see Kageyama frowning down on him.

"He's almost on par with me. Do you get that, idiot? Why are you looking at him like that?" Kageyama released his hair and walked away. He left Hinata standing there in confusion until he was dragged onto the court by Ennoshita.

After Karasuno won their practice match the team began packing up their stuff. Yet, on the opposite side of the court stood a lonesome figure, tall and nonchalant around a few of his rowdy players. He had put on his jacket minutes ago, but he didn't leave from where he stood near the bench. His gaze landed on an orange-haired player, distractedly running around like a fly and catching unwanted attention from his teammates.

"Iwa-Chan, doesn't it make your blood boil when your opponent slack off?" Oikawa suddenly asked his ace. He was cleaning up by the bench, so Oikawa just had to turn slightly to talk to him.

Iwaizumi grunted openly and quietly questioned, "What are you talking about?" As if not satisfied with his own answer, he added, "it was an even match even if their technique was pretty sloppy."

This caught Oikawa's attention. "It wasn't though" he earnestly replied, seeing the same boy talking to their #13. Sensing the familiarity, Oikawa squinted his eyes. #13 was the one that scored them those decent amount of points. His attention swiftly moved back to their subject of discussion, and he rubbed his lips with his thumb, cogs turning in his brain.
