Worry

Kuroo leered at the two figures in front of him. His target was sleeping peacefully behind the setter, and for some reason, that scene weighed heavily on his chest. He played it off as he walked closer, feeling his voice straining itself when he greets them. His eyes linger on the figure but then averts themselves with some sadness.

"So..he's asleep?" He asked Kenma worriedly. The wet collar of the white shirt Hinata was wearing caught his attention. He couldn't hear Kenna talking to him, only concerning himself with Hinata's small figure in his completely damp outerwear.

"Did something happen?"

"Yeah..he was drugged."

Kuroo face lit with befuddlement.

Kenma followed it up with a brief explanation, his eyes showing no ill intentions, "I didn't really meet him at the vending machine. He needed to vent..so I tried to help him." His face, after saying so, was marred with a hint of red while Kuroo fingers unconsciously curled inward, forming a tight fist that almost broke through skin.

"This..you didn't go far did you?" He tried to joke around, but it came out sharp that it was sarcastic. Matted hair sticking close to his scalp covered his hardened expression. Kuroo didn't want to worry Kenma, but he won't deny that seeing Hinata hanging off of him made his skin itch with irritation. This frustration was written all over his face, but he had no courage to hurt Kenma over a small matter.

Not waiting for an answer, he quickly directed the conversation elsewhere, "Let's head back and discuss it with the coaches." He turned to leave until a hand-held his arms in a reassuring manner. Confused, he looked back to see the younger gazing heavily at him.

"No one else."

For a while Kuroo remained quiet but then he nodded solemnly and forcefully turned around.

They carefully laid Hinata onto the bench. The players were already aware of Hinata the moment they stepped through the door. Crowding the younger, Kenma made sure to push everyone back while Kuroo meets with the coaches.

"He's asleep?" Sugawara was the first to speak. Daichi's looked over when he saw the commotion. He wanted to to see if Hinata was okay but had to stayed behind with the Ukai since he was the captain.

Kageyama, standing at the end of the bench, suddenly pinched a piece of the orange hair and tugged it weakly.  Hearing no response, he furrowed his brows thoughtfully. The prying eyes full of curiosity surrounded the poor kid. It was a good thing he'd passed out, otherwise, he'd surely cry a mouthful of tears seeing these rowdy players over him.

Since Kenma wasn't good at socializing, he bought them some time by excusing Hinata of energy depletion. It wasn't until the coaches walked over did he manage to shrink himself back against his teammates.

"Is Hinata okay? He looks tired?"

"I've never seen him look so worn out before."

"Could it be that we went too hard these past rounds?"

The slight whispers of concern and confusion echoed in their barren gym. Since none of the adults wanted to tell their students the truth in an attempt to save Hinata some face and to not cause panic, they hoped to pull the crowd away so they can privately examine him. Yet much to their surprise, none of them moved from where they stood. In fact, seeing that their coaches were trying to hide something, their faces grew even more grave as their suspicion rose.

"He overworked himself today with all the jumping he'd done and passed out in the bathroom. It's nothing serious, a few vitamin drinks and some rest should get him up and going," coach Ukai tried to pacify with much trouble. Kiyoko walked over with a small medkit and tested Hinata's temperature then searched for any superficial wounds. When she saw that, besides the uncomfortably wet shirt, Hinata showed no sign of discomfort, she retracted the thermometer.
