Ive been super busy so i havent had time to upload so im gonna upload 2 chapters to make it up to you :)
Chace’s POV
“LYDIA!” I yelled getting to my feet & grabbing the collar of her shirt. “Look what you have done!”
“I have done nothing, she fell all on her own so I you would like to blame anyone blame her!”
“She wouldn’t have even been there if it wasn’t for you!” I could feel my blood boiling with anger at how calm she was about the situation.
“Well I wouldn’t have let her go it if weren’t for you!”
My heart shattered at that, she was right. I gave the order & now id lost the one person that I felt close to. I failed her, she was gone & it was my fault.
I slowly walked out of the meeting room feeling like my world had just come crashing down. I just had to come to terms with the fact that getting close to a human was stupid. Humans are so weak and vulnerable. Getting hurt comes so easily to them. She was just a human, nothing more, so why did I feel like my heart had just been torn out.
I heard a muffled sob & I couldn’t believe what I saw as I turned to look into the foyer. Cleo, my Cleo crying into Antonio’s chest.
I clenched my fists so hard that my nails pierced my skin. Antonio was my number one rival & had been for 3 years now. I knew immediately what he was going to try and do. He was going to try & take Cleo from me.
Cleo’s POV
I was so sure this was the end. But my thoughts of Chace were cut off when I hit something hard. Am I dead? I thought to myself. I opened my eyes to find myself in the arms of a gorgeous boy. Not as much so as Chace but still very handsome. He has green eyes & blonde hair. His skin was pale & cold. He must have been outside for quite a while because his skin was freezing.
“Thank you!” I yelled throwing my arms around his neck, holding on for dear life.
He put me to my feet & wrapped his arms around me. He pulled me away & I didn’t realise I was crying until he wiped the tears from my eyes.
“Let’s go inside.” He suggested. I nodded slightly still clinging to his arm.
“You are a life saver...literally.” he chuckled slightly but turned to me.
“I couldn’t let a pretty little thing like you fall could I?” I flashed me the most beautiful half smile I have ever seen and my heart jumped. I felt a slight blush come to my cheeks & I felt the tears coming again. The memory of what happened & how close I came to death flooded me with sadness & I began to cry again.
He pulled me closer to him and tightly wound his arms around my waist and I cried quietly into his chest.
“Antonio? What are you doing here?”
Chace’s POV
“Antonio? What are you doing here?” I growled harshly.
“I just stopped by for a visit.” He smirked at me looking down at Cleo who was still in his arms.
“Very well.” I was trying to be professional but I all I could think about was tearing his head off for touching my beautiful Cleo.
Cleo slowly turned & Antonio’s arms fell from around her waist but immediately gripped her hand tightly.
“Get away from him Cleo.” I gave her a warning glare.
“He saved me. I owe him my life.” She looked sincerely grateful.
“Cleo.” I mumbled “Your life is worth much more than him!”
“And what if he hadn’t been there? What if I had hit the ground & died?” I was stunned I couldn’t find the words. My heart was shattered when she said the next 5 words. “Like you would care anyway!”
With those last words she turned pulling Antonio behind her, their fingers still entwined.
