▬▬▬ CHAPTER TWENTY SIX ▬▬▬

ESMERELDA ENJOYED THE REMAINDER OF her stay with the Tonks family very much. Tonks, who didn't live with them, visited often due to the new addition to the family, and she was easily Esmerelda's favorite. Especially since she could basically shapeshift into whoever she wanted to without needing the Mist.

"Do I look like you?" Esmerelda asked hopefully, staring up at the older woman. Tonks' metamorphmagus status motivated her to practice her disguising skills more, something she had never done before. Sure she had disguised objects, but never actually herself. She was sure the rest of her siblings have already gotten it down pat thanks to Alabaster's tutelage.

She needed to learn everything quickly, and not just for her sake, but for her sister's sake too. Lou Ellen had nobody but her to rely on for guidance over her powers.

Tonks looked uncertain. "Um, no, my nose isn't that small. And my eyes aren't blue. Oh and, my skin tone's a few shades lighter and—"

"—Ugh," Esmerelda groaned in defeat, dropping the Mist disguise.

Tonks gave her a 'well, at least you tried your best!' look before Andromeda called for them from downstairs.

"Nymphadora! Esmerelda! Lunch is ready!"

"MUM!" Tonks complained as the pair of them walked down the stairs. "I told you, it's Tonks! And Essie likes being called Essie!"

"Yes of course, dear, now sit down." The brunette woman waved them over. "Your father made four cheese penne with garlic bread."

Both girls eagerly sat on their respective seats. Ted was already there, enjoying his lunch meal without waiting for anyone. Not that anyone could blame him, he was easily the best cook in the house.

Esmerelda savored her meal. She wouldn't be getting these sort of delicious meals once she returned to camp. No, instead she would be back to eating healthy... Not that it was a bad thing, but flavor-wise... blegh.

Esmerelda was expected to return to camp today, which was why Ted had made such a grand meal with additional desserts. War was brewing and they needed as many able fighters in camp as quick as possible. It was also crucial that she taught Lou Ellen everything she knew.

She would definitely miss the Tonkses though. She truly felt like she was apart of the family, something she hadn't felt since her siblings left. Ted was her weird uncle who always got flabbergasted whenever she showcased her powers, Andromeda was the prim and proper aunt who obsessed over teaching Esmerelda how to behave more like a 'lady' since those lessons were something she failed to ingrain into her daughter's head, and Tonks was her super cool cousin who told stories about all the cases she had as an Auror.
