That summer of jr year, was the best summer that I can remember, so far anyway.

I might say it was one of the hottest.

When we saw those boys walk in the Harry's, the town's only ice cream parlor, both of us melted in our shoes. And Emma, of all people, says "there's one for each of us" both of us giggled.

She knew I was having one of my days so she was trying to make me feel better

Thank goodness that we were headed there anyways or else I know one of us would have made an excuse to walk in those tall, blue doors.

Back then I was never the type of girl why liked flirting with guys, neither of us had ever had a boyfriend or ever flirted with a guy besides practicing on Emma's older brother Jackson.

Jackson was the definition of 'the boy next door'. He had a sweet face and a kind smile. He had always stuck up for me and Emma, it just what a big brother does. Right?

Little does Emma know, I've had a crush on Jackson for as long as I can remember. I don't know why I haven't told her, I told this girl everything but I just couldn't find the words to tell her that I was secretly in love with her brother.

How do you tell your best friend something like that?

Both of us were walking up to the big blue doors of the ice cream shop. We both look at eachother and nod in assurance, then open the doors.

I look back now and I can still feel the butterflies that I felt walking in those doors.

We walked in Harry's and we ordered what we always get.

Emma always gets triple chocolate, which makes my teeth hurt just thinking about all the sugar in that one cup. I always get vanilla with rainbow sprinkles, the colors are my favorite.

We turned around after paying and there they were, both of them.

Michael had black hair, he was about 6 foot tall, with ocean blue eyes. He was smiling down at Emma with teeth so white, they could blind you. Emma will not stop drooling.

I don't know if it's because of the ice cream or Michael but I seriously doubt it was because of the ice cream. I thought it was kind of funny, as if Emma could rarely control herself around a person of the opposite sex.

Then, I saw him, I saw William. He was tall, handsome with hazel green eyes just like every girl dreams of.

He wouldn't make eye contact with me at first until I saw Emma trip over her shoe and fall right on her ass in front of the whole shop.

I helped her up and reassured her that it wasn't too embarrassing, even though we both knew it was.

It's almost as if I could see my whole life flash before my eyes. I could see all the days he would make me smile and all the loneliness go away.

One look at the boy standing in front of me and I felt the weight lift off my shoulders and all my fears go away.

We went and sat at the booth behind them and had the Cheshire Cat grin on our faces the whole way there, I felt like a little school girl all over again.

As we sat down and got comfortable, Michael came over and slid next to Emma in the booth like some cheesy 70's movie dinner scene. Emma looked at him like she was about to choke.

She said "you're kidding me right?" with a look of utter disbelief on her face.

He said "No, I don't think I would have wasted my time and came over here if I was kidding. I left my ice cream over there. I dont play when it comes to me and my ice cream" she laughed nervously and smiled.

She shoved a spoon full of triple chocolate in her mouth and smiled. She had ice cream dripping from the side of her mouth.

Without a word, he takes his thumb and wiped the ice cream from the corner of her mouth and licks his thumb.

He smiles and says "so you're cute and you have great taste"

I said "we have to go but maybe she can get your number."

A few moments later he grabbed her hand and wrote down his number with the sharpie I handed him from my purse.

As we were walking out the door I felt someone pull on my arm and spin me around. When I turned around I was face-to-face with Will and I could smell the mint chocolate chip ice cream on his breath.

We stood there, for what felt like hours just staring at each other.

We paused for a minute and could feel myself blush.

I was toe to toe with a complete stranger, but i've never felt more comfortable with another person

Will said "um, you left this on the booth" he said with a shaky voice, full of nervousness and handed me my bedazzled cased phone that I had just got myself for my birthday.

I laughed and said "thank you" not being able to look  away from his eyes.

He said "You should really put a password on that" looking at me just as hard.

He left with a big grin on his face like he knows something I didn't.

We left out the door while Emma had her face in her phone.

The entire drive home I couldn't stop thinking about him, I don't know why but there was something different about him.

I couldn't understand why someone like him would pay any attention to me. I've never been kissed or even had a boyfriend.

I'm just Maliah, i'm a girl who would rather spend time with Harry Potter and Edward Cullen rather than actual people. Why would he like me?

I looked through the window at him but all I kept thinking was, what did he mean by 'You should really keep a lock on that.' I guess I will find out when I get home.

But I just couldn't stop looking at those eyes, he was absolutely captivating.

There was just something about those eyes that seemed so familiar.

Too familiar.
