I wipe my hands off in the grass while looking over at Clark, who seems about as annoyed as I do. "I can't wait for those old fucks to drop dead," he grumbles, falling on his butt in the grass. I glance over at the group of older alphas who have so generously taken Clark and me under their wings."At least we don't have to deal with him," I mutter gesturing towards the large Alpha standing alone. Clark looks back at the Bennard Alpha while smirking.
"He does know his wife's infidelity isn't your fault, right?"
"It's what bugs him so much, and I believe he does blame for his missing step-son," I mutter while fiddling with my thumbs. Out of all the Alphas that I truly wanted tips from, it would be him but being my father's son and the fact the man is a mute around non pack members it will never happen.
Oh, the pain I wish I could infect on my father is immense but as Father Alpha, he has protection until proven guilty. Yeah, like abandoning the pack, cheating on your wife, and being cruel towards your sons is not guilty enough. I shake my head while holding a hand out towards Clark. I remember the times where I was taller than this tiny skyscraper. I am by no means a short man, a stand around six foot two but this man is about six or seven inches taller than I am. It's honestly ridiculous.
"Have you talked to your mother about that girl yet?" Clark asks, his black eyes locking on the eldest member of The Alphas of Marragada, Alpha Rend. The name makes no sense to me, to be honest, we are all alphas of Marragada, she is our goddess, our creator. Right, the girl. Oh god, the girl.
"No, how would I? Hey, ma? You know that girl Vic brings around a lot who never seems to be at pack meetings, I've been crushing on her since I was like twelve so can you do something about that?" I scoff while crossing my arms over my chest. Clark raises one of his jet black brows in question.
"You could ask for her name. Geez, sounding a bit like a teen there," he teases. I flip him off while glancing around us, making sure no one is dropping in on our conversation. These men tend to alway want to have a say in our lives, especially when it comes to mates. I honestly cannot count how many times I have had 'helpful' suggestions of women in my pack or theirs to court. Most of the time it is their daughters, sisters, or even granddaughters but this is where I will draw a line. I do not want to end up like my parents nor do I want a power hungry mate.
"But-"
"Yeah, yeah. The whole, I've been Alpha since I was a teen, my father abandoned me, and I want my future Luna to be a woman who doesn't want me just to be Luna spill. If she doesn't go to pack meetings I have a feeling that becoming Luna is the last thing on her mind."
"I hate you."
"You only hate me because I'm right. I'm the Dark Alpha, not a dipshit like you." I cut him a dirty look as Alpha Rend calls us. We make our way over to him waiting for his next words.
"Men, as you know this, this thing with the unfaithful vampires and rogues should not be taken lightly. They are organizing attacks on packs as-"
Alpha, we have some rogues on the border. Looks like they are getting ready to attack. My beta links me. Great timing Garret. I clear my throat loudly, catching their attention.
"I have just been informed my pack may end up being attacked soon. May I leave?" I ask. Rend frowns as his eyes widen, probably not expecting for attacks to start so soon.
"As have I," Alpha Westly announces.
"You two are excused. Letters will be sent for our next meeting, try to capture one of these rogues so that we may find out what is happening. If the council approaches you, keep quiet."
