Epilogue : Monika / A13 After Stories

'Voice message sent successfully.'

Those were the last words I hear before I passed out.

Monika followed the instruction on the phone to navigate around the city. It didn't take long before she made her way to the pier. Since Jason shut down all of the security camera in this region a day ago, Monika is able to go to the pier undetected.

Surprisingly, Gavin and Jason are waiting at the pier.

'Why are you guys here?' Monika asked in confusion.

'We wanted to say our final farewell to you and A13 before you guys leave. Wait, where's A13?' Gavin questioned.

Monika didn't say a word. She put her head down and begin to sob quietly.

'He didn't make it?' Jason enquired.

'Yes.' Monika whispered. The words are very quiet yet to them it struck like a thunderstorm.

They remained silence for half a minute. Monika then told them what happened and how A13 was seriously injured, pausing frequently as she sobs.

'I'm deeply sorry for what had happened.' Gavin said. His eyes are also teary.

'No time to mourn for now.' Jason interrupted. 'The militia will eventually find us. We need to continue with his plan.'

With the help of Jason, Monika is able to climb through the closed gate of the pier. She then goes for the nearest parked ship and boards. That ship requires a key to start but luckily for Monika, A13 gave her a gadget called 'universal key' which is able to crack any physical locks. Soon Monika managed to start the ship and begin to sail.

Gavin and Jason waved goodbye until Monika's ship disappeared on the horizon. 'Let's go get A13.' Gavin suggested.

'What's the point? He is probably dead by now. Being stabbed in the abdomen is a lethal injury, and he won't last before we arrive.' Jason said.

'But what if he is alive? We might be able to save him. Hurry!' Gavin insisted.

'If you insist.' Jason replied.

Gavin and Jason rushed towards the apple tree. A13 is there, lying unconscious in his own pool of blood.

'Check for pulse. Or check if he is still breathing.' Gavin instructed.

Jason pressed his fingers against A13's neck. 'Pulse is weak, but he is still alive.'

Gavin lets out a relieved sigh. 'Blood seems to clotted around his wound, slowing down the blood loss. He is alive for now but if he didn't receive treatment he will die for real soon.' Jason explained.

Gavin and Jason together lifted A13's body and rushed towards the nearest hospital. The doctor there injected a chemical near his wound which stimulate blood clotting. Soon A13's condition becomes stable and he will spend the next few months in a coma.

(The next day)

Jason visited A13's previous house. The door had been demolished during the assault, so Jason can access his house freely. He took away some material from his house and met with Gavin at his home.

With the help of those evidence taken from A13's home, Gavin and Jason exposed the Government's action online. News spread like wildfire on the internet and soon the majority of H city population knows about the incident. Almost everyone choose to stand by A13's side. They demand the Government to apologize and those officers in charge to resign. Protests were common for the next few months and there are even riots from the radicals who supported A13. Eventually it was too much for the Governments to bear. The mayor himself wrote a speech of apology and delivered it himself. Those officers who were involved in that incident were either fired or demoted to a point where they could never get back to their original position in their lifetime.

(Meanwhile)

With the help of the map on A13's phone, Monika is able to arrive at K city after two days of sailing. She landed at a shore secretly at midnight and abandoned her ship right after that. She followed A13's instruction and contacted a black market dealer, who then gave her a new identity after Monika paid him a large amount of cash. She is since then known as Rin in K city and she begins to start a new life there.
