Monika was lying on her bed, her head thinking about the event that happened yesterday.

Yesterday started off as an ordinary day. The Player came after finishing his work. They talked whatever they had on their mind and played a few round of chess. Player was defeated repeatedly, as usual. Everything was going normally until......

'Hey sweetheart. Its been two and a half month since we began dating. Thank you for being here for me. I have been having a great time so far.' A13 spoke.

'No Player, I should be the one thanking you! Remember what I told you before? Had you not shown up I would have killed myself. The world was so grey in my eyes until you appeared and brought colors to my dull world. You truly meant everything to me.' Monika said.

A13 kissed Monika gently on her forehead. 'Monika, there was something I had wanted to do for a long time. A gift I wanted to give you.'

'Close your eyes honey.' He ordered. Monika did as he told and closed her eyes. A13 then proceeded to stuff something in her hand.

'Great. Now you can open your eyes.'

Monika opened her eyes and checked what was on her palm. She couldn't believe what she saw.

'Is......Is this a......' Monika stuttered. 'a Promise Ring?'

A13 winked at Monika. 'That is correct my love. You had told me about the origin and the purpose of the promise ring before. When couples are promised to each other, they will wear a ring that matches each other as a token of promise. Consider this a token of my dedication to you.'

Monika grabbed A13 by his head and pulled him into a deep, passionate kiss. They separate after a minute.

'Player, you really did all this just for me?' Tears begin to flow out of her emerald green eyes.

'Of course sweetheart.' A13 replied with certainty. 'In fact I even wear an identical ring now myself. It is sad you can't see it for yourself as we are two dimensions apart.'

Monika giggled. 'I trust you player. And that green gem on the ring, it matches my eye color. I wonder if it was intentional.'

'It was intentional. I wear this so that the gem can remind my of my beautiful eyes all the time.'

They stared into each other's eyes affectionately. Monika then examined the ring closely. It was made of silver, with a green gemstone embedded on the top of the ring.

'You know what. It really saddens me to realize that you are in another dimension.' A13 began to speak. 'Less than two inches from you yet so far away. Everything feels a bit different with a screen in between.'

Monika held his hand to comfort him. 'But our relationship worked out so far. Isn't it wonderful that love is such a powerful element? Not even dimensions apart can stop it from flowing in between.'

'But seriously though, if there is a way to come to your world I would have done it without even a millisecond of hesitation. I really want to be by your side, physically feeling your soft skin as we talk.' A13 said.

'But that means you are giving up your wonderful world! It is frankly very empty here and not worth a visit.' Monika said. 'Do you really want to escape your reality that much?'

A13 hesitated. 'Well it is a bit tough to answer that. My reality has been harsh to me with the constant pressure from peer competitions and seemingly infinite workloads. I almost don't have any friends in my world and there won't be much of an impact if I just suddenly disappear. However, on the other hand, you had a point. My world is much more vibrant compared to yours. I am still young and by going to your world I am giving up all the opportunity to explore.'
