It's been 19 long weeks at the FBI Academy. The final week was approaching and I would soon need to pick the unit I would be working for.I was top of my class and I deserved it. I physically and mentally drained myself during training. Not sure if it was because I wanted to be the best or because I needed to prove it to myself and to my family that I could become someone.
Either way I did it and I'm proud. I got offers from almost all of the FBI units. The decision wasn't going to be easy to make. I'd have been talking to the agents in all the units that had offered me a position but none of them stood out to me yet.
At least I had my best friend that I made here at the Academy to confide in and ask for advice. Her name was Maggie Vega. Maggie and I are roommates and we spent lots of nights binge watching tv shows. One of our favorites was this show called Mind Hunters. We loved to compare how the tv portrayed the FBI to how the FBI actually is. It's not realistic and we find that hilarious at 3 in the morning.
Maggie was one of my outlets to destress but another was investigating cold cases. It all started back in college when I used to watch the YouTube series Unsolved Mysteries by Buzzfeed. Maybe that's what inspired me to join the FBI.
Enough reminiscing, I needed to clear my head and the best way to do was to investigate on the cold case I've been working on. Along the east coast there has been 5 female teenagers reported missing. They all looked alike, tall, blonde and blue eyes. That's not the only thing that linked them together. They all went missing the night before their 18 birthday. Unfortunately nothing was found at the spot where they were last scene besides the cars they drove to abandoned parking lots they were taken from. The last girl went missing two weeks ago not so far from here and the FBI isn't working on the case. It angered me and made me want to work the case on my own but I was still a New Agent Trainee and held no power what's so ever. After staring at my personal laptop for what felt like only fifteen minutes but in reality it was three hours, I decided to leave my dorm and go get some snacks at the local supermarket. Maggie wasn't home yet from her class so I texted her that I was heading out and would be back in 30 minutes. She read the message but didn't respond back, she couldn't get caught on her phone in class or else she would get in big trouble.
I arrived to the super market and picked up some snacks. I got some cereal, candy, a bag of takis and a Greek yogurt. I decided to go eat my yogurt at the park that was across the street and watch the sunset.
It was dark now and I had finished my yogurt. I was looking at the moon and I couldn't stop thinking about that 5th girl to go missing. Was she alive ? I pulled out my phone and opened the map application. I realized the location that her car was found at was only a 20 minute walk. I decided to go check it out really quickly.
I had finally arrived at the abandoned parking lot. As I was walking I saw tire marks on the ground from people doing donuts with their cars here. On the report the girls car was found at the very back of the parking lot which was next to the woods. I headed over there and turned on my flashlight. There was still a police tape around the light post.On the ground and saw a drop of blood. I looked at the dirt on the edge of the woods and saw foot prints but at this point they could belong to anybody in the police department who worked here or any of the people that vandalize the parking lot.
Suddenly my flashlight went out. A cold breeze swooped by and I could hear the leaves on the trees. It was quiet too quiet. I put my phone in my bag and took out my keys that had a pepper spray on it, just incase of an emergency. I turned around and started to walk back. It was late and I shouldn't have been out here all alone. My hands started to get sweaty and I dropped my keys. I stopped to pick them up and as I was coming back up. Someone put a cloth over my mouth and had their arm wrapped around my neck. I tried to kick myself off of him and stab my key into his thigh. It worked and he fell to the ground in pain. I ran as fast as I could away from him. He quickly took the key out of his thigh and ran after me. I looked back and saw him getting closer but I was almost approaching the main road now. When suddenly I was struck on the back of my head and fell hard to the ground. I tried to keep my eyes open but i felt so tired and I passed out.

Maggie's P.O.VClass had ended two hours ago but I had gone out after with a group of trainees from my class to eat and discuss the class materials. By the time I got back to dorm it was already 9:30pm. Y/N should already be asleep.
I walked in and saw that Y/N wasn't home. I pulled out my phone and texted her.
Y/N: I'm heading out, be back in 30 mins :) 7:30pm
Maggie: Where are you? 9:31pm
I put my phone down to charge and went to the bathroom to prepare myself for bed. After I finished my night routine it was 10:15pm and still no response from y/n. I texted her again.
Maggie: Y/N are you okay?? 10:16pm
Maggie: Y/N ?!?! 10:18pm
Maggie: HELLO?!? 10:20pm
Maggie: I'm starting to get worried! 10:23pm
Maggie: I'm not sure what to do! 10:34pm
Maggie: omg I really hope everything's fine and you just bumped into some super hot guy and got freaky ;) 10:38pm
I've been staring at my phone for 20 minutes waiting for a response from Y/N when I accidentally fell asleep.
I woke up the next morning and jumped up from bed to see if y/n was lying in her bed. My heart sank to my stomach when I realized she wasn't there. I checked my phone and I still had no response. I called her five times and it went straight to voicemail. I quickly got up from bed and ran out to the Director of the FBI academy office.
After I told the Directors secretary what happened she quickly got up from her chair and interrupted the Directors meetings. He came out and talked to me. He had a serious and concerned facial expression. The director called in the FBI internal affairs unit to talk to me.
In the interrogation room I told the agents what happened last night. They asked me about my relationship with Y/N. They also asked me questions about what type of person Y/N was. I told them how she was the most amazing friend and how glad I was to have met her. This made me so emotional and I started to cry. The agent smiled at me and told me he would find y/n. He handed me a tissue and then walked out of the room.
A few minutes later he barged in the room. "Do you know what she was up to Maggie"? he asked me with a stern voice.
"N-no! What are you talking?" I asked confused.
" Y/N was investigating open cold cases from her private computer on FBI grounds."
" Ok. How is that a bad thing? Every Agent does it?" I said with a slightly raised voice.
"Maggie she was investigating what it seems to be a serial child abductor from FBI grounds using a laptop that is easy to hack into"
" Do you think someone was watching her?" I asked.
" it's possible and if y/n was taken by the person who abducted those 5 girls she could never be found." He said to me with sad eyes.
" WHAT?!" " You have to find her!" That's my best friend!!"
" Calm down im handing the laptop over to the best technical analyst the FBI has, hopefully she can track down the person y/n was trying to track down."
"Who are you giving the laptop to?" I asked.
" To Penelope Gracia, the BAU is taking over this case. You might want to put some real clothes on they are going to want to question you".
" Penelope Gracia? The BAU? That's the best team in the entire FBI! They have to find Y/N!" I said all cheery as I left the interrogation room.
