What do you think comes after death?
Well I died four years ago and I still don't know. I got lost in the forest and while trying to find my way out I found berries, I had been so excited.. but they were poisonous so it killed me. No one even found my body so it just stayed there rotting, and I watched it. I had become a ghost and I couldn't just leave my body there, so sat for there what felt like years but then I heard voices. I ran towards them and I saw that there had been a path not far from me, I cried for days but now one could see me. So I had walked a didn't stop until I got to the stow on side cemetery so I wouldn't be alone and for the past four years I had aged and grew, I don't know why but it happened.
And now here I am hiding behind a tree. A boy named Allister had started coming here two years ago and I swear we've made eye contact. He wears a mask but he takes it off sometimes and when he does I see him look at me so I run. No human can see ghosts right? Or at least human ghosts, he plays with the ghosts of Pokémon so I know he's not normal but he shouldn't be able to see me.
"Gengar!"
(You can understand ghost Pokémon)
I looked behind me to see Allisters Gengar.
"Oh hi Gengar you scared me."
"Sorry but I was just wondering why you're hiding from Allister."
"Oh uh I just don't wanna bother him!"
"But he can't see you, come on."
He grabbed my arm and started pulling me towards where Allister is.
"No I don't want to! Let me go!"
"He's not gonna hurt you, I've seen you so many times and I've never gotten the chance to talk to you I want to get to know you!"
"Gengar where'd you go?" I looked up to see that it Allister was that was talking and he had his mask off, I had never heard his voice before, it was so quiet and he sounded so unsure of himself.
"Getting a friend!"
Allister looked at his Gengar and then at me, but he quickly looked away as I sat on the ground.
"Human what is you're name?"
"(Y/n)."
I looked at Allister and saw a slight blush.
"How old are you?"
"Fourteen."
"Allister is fourteen too! Anyways how did you die?"
"Gengar! That's not something you ask someone!" Allister nearly shouted, Gengar just laughed.
"Sorry I guess that wasn't a good question."
"It's alright I've made peace with my death I got lost in a forest when I was ten and I found some berries but I didn't realize they were poisonous."
Allister flinched, Gengars smile turned into a frown.
"I'm sorry that must've been terrible."
"Yes it was but I can't do anything about it now."
"So are you ten or fourteen?"
"Well that's something I'm confused about, I've actually grown in the four years, I wasn't this tall when I was ten."
"Oh Allister she's a weird one, touch her and see if anything's happens!"
"No." Allister didn't hesitate to respond but Gengar just smiled and took my hand.
"He can see you. He always talks about you I was just tired of him not being brave enough to come to you."
Allister put his face in his hands not being able to put his mask on because Gengar took it.
"Wait really? Is that why you were always looking at me?"
"Y-yeah I'm sorry I never came up to you."
"It's okay, it's just- I've been a bit lonely. Even if talking to Pokémon is fun I miss talking to people."
He just stayed quiet he looked at the ground but I could see a blush.
"Gengar give me my mask back."
Gengar smiled, he knew it was a good idea to bring you.
Two years later
"Allister! How was the battle?" I yelled as soon as I saw Allister coming my way, over the past two years we've become close and I also figured out he could touch me. We figured that out because I tripped and fell on him one day, but I realized that I also still had felt pain when I fell. We spent about a week researching what it meant which means I got to go to his home and I was able to meet Bea who he shares the gym with, she was scary but she was really cute. We couldn't find anything in the end but the process of looking was fun and I got a tour of his house, during it Bea was trying to be supportive even if she couldn't see me which was nice.
"It was okay but I lost." He said when he finally got to me.
"Oh that's to bad. You've been on a losing streak lately what are you gonna do?"
"I don't know I just wanna relax right now, my mask almost came off during the battle and I found out it broke." He said while sitting on the floor, I went to sit next to him.
"How badly did it break? What did you do?"
"It cracked almost completely on the inside thankfully it wasn't visible to anyone else but I had to hold it the entire time."
"Did anyone notice?"
"Only the staff, they all came up to me afterwards to check if I was okay but Gengar pushed them away so I could come here, I wanted to talk to you about it."
"Well your here now so tell me more." I said and I put my hand on his back for comfort.
"I panicked so badly that I felt like I was gonna pass out I know I put my face on my league card but I only give that to people I trust so no one really knows what I look like. You, Bea and the gym leaders are some of the only people, I really just can't handle all the fans and fame I wish I didn't become the gym leader sometimes."
I was shocked heard this, although he's had days like this he's never wanted to quit he always says things like, 'I'll just train harder' or 'I'll win next time'. He took his mask off and looked at the crack, then he broke it himself and put his hands on his face in embarrassment.
"Allister.. why didn't you tell me this sooner?"
"I... I didn't want you to worry."
"You're my friend you should know I'd help you through this."
He looked up to me with tears in his eyes and with a small smile that was clearly fake, "Am I just a friend to you (Y/n)?"
"What do you mean?"
He laughed and wiped a tear away, "Of course you wouldn't realize you've been dead since you were ten. (Y/n) I've loved you even before Gengar made us meet, I saw you when I first started coming to the cemetery and I thought you were beautiful so I started going earlier and I watched you play with the Pokémon. After you realized what time I came around you always left early so instead I asked the Pokémon what you were like and from their words I fell in love."
Well that was obvious, I saw how often he blushed around me but I wouldn't have thought that it lasted that long.
"Allister I may have died young but I still knew some things, I've seen how often you've blushed around me and I heard you talk to Bea about me and if I'm being honest I've fallen for you too. I've seen a side of you that no one else has seen, I've seen you laugh so hard you started crying, you've told me all you're stories of when you were younger and I have to admit I love you too."
He looked at me with shock but then smiled and leaned in to kiss me, at first I was shocked but then I kissed him back and it really felt like I was alive again. I could feel his warmth and love and all I could think about was how I wanted to be with him for the rest of his life.
I'm sorry I took awhile to update this school started again and I probably won't be able to update this often but I have a lot of good ideas so I'll try to write as much as I can
