formality

Drina POV
     So the winter formal is tomorrow and I have a great plan for it doing absolutely nothing!
I've never really cared much for dances.

I woke up on the couch next to my brother to see dad there with his camera. Seriously what is it with parents and taking pictures of their kids sleeping.
"Really. You still do that." I said in a sleepy voice.
"Yes. Yes I do." He kissed my forehead and walked to the kitchen looking at the picture.
I pushed my brother off the couch to wake him up and went upstairs to get dressed.
I got dressed in jeans and boots with a tank top and flannel shirt then my coat over that.
"Why are we going to school now? we have a half hour till we usually leave." Stiles asked as we got in the Jeep.
"Because I have to check on Derek. I don't trust Peter at all."
He sighed but agreed to drive me to the Hale house.
I got out of the Jeep and walked up to the door, knocking I heard someone say one second.
"Drina?! What are you doing here?"
Was Derek's response to see me standing at his door.
"I needed to see if you're ok." I said as I walked in and turned to look at him.
"I'm fine."
"Scott told me what happened. Why are you doing what he says?"
"Because Peter is the alpha of the family and as a Beta I don't have a choice."
"There's always a choice."

"Derek who is it?" Peter came down the stairs with a confused look on his face.
"Hi I'm Peter Hale." He said holding out his hand for me to shake.
I shook it not knowing it was the hand with my bracelet. He grabbed my hand and pulled it up examining the charm.
"Ah so you found her! This is little Drina. I almost don't believe it. I remember finding you and the other girls with my sister Talia. You were so small back then." He said in weirdly cheerful voice.
"Now Drina question. Do you want the bite?"
Peter asked like that's just something you ask on the street.
"Uhh no thanks. I'm pretty happy just being human." ( Hehe)
"Alright I accept that decision. But if you ever reconsider. You know where to find me." Peter says walking away.

"Ok now you have to go to school."
Derek said leading me to the door.
"Really?! I already have a dad."
"I'm more older brother who wants my little sister educated."
"Bleh." I said as I walked to the Jeep, waved at Derek and drove to school.
Classes went by like usual and all was as normal as my life is tilllll lunch.

"I know what you're doing today after school." Lydia said sitting in front of me while I'm trying to peacefully eat my pasta salad.
"Oh yeah? What's that?"
"Going dress shopping with Allison and I."
Allison sat down next to her smiling.
"Why's that princess? You need a Ladies maid?"
I said still trying to eat my lunch.
"No. As a apology for myself blaming you for Jackson breaking up with me. I'm going to buy your dress for the formal tomorrow. I'm buying all our dresses."
"Pass." I said clicking my tongue.
"Drina come-on. You can wear that amazing necklace you made."
Allison said giving away my secret. Only a few people know that I make jewelry.
"You made a necklace?"
Lydia asked me with curiosity in her face and voice.
"Yes I make jewelry. Anyway I can't go to the formal."
"Why not?"
"Because I don't want to. And if I did, I don't have a date and Danny already has one."
"Ok so by the end of the day I'll find a date for you and then we'll go shopping." Lydia said matter-of-factly.
"No Lydia. I don't want to go with some horny lacrosse player."
"Ok then I'll find you someone."
She walked away and I looked at Allison with a look that says really.
She nods and smiles. Ugh.

After school I let Stiles know that I've been taken hostage by Lydia to go shopping and headed to Allison's car.
Right now we are walking through the woods because this is the small errand Allison had to make before we went shopping.
"Allison when you said you had to make a small errand. This is not what I was thinking."Lydia said having difficulty walking through the woods in high heels. Where is myself and Allison have boots on. I'm actually walking on the fallen down trees.
"It's just a quick one. Oh Jackson asked me to the formal. As friends. If that's ok with you Lydia."
"Sure as long as it's just friends. Oh Drina! I found your date!" Lydia said and in shock I slipped and fell off the tree I was walking on.
"Are you ok?!" Allison and Lydia asked as I layed on the ground laughing.
"Yeah yeah I'm fine."
"Good. Anyway your date isss Matt!"
"What!? No Lydia."
"What you said no lacrosse players even though multiple want to go out with out with you. So I made a poster for the wall saying if anyone wants to go with Drina to the winter formal find me and he was the only non lacrosse player. I gave him your number and he seems very excited."
"Oh greattt. You set me up with the guy that has been stalking me at school since freshman year."
"He's harmless. Just go with him and if he does something wrong, if you don't take care of it. I know one of the guys in your life will."
I gave out a defeated sigh and hung my head. "Fine."
She gave out a happy squeal and hugged me.
"Ah ah Allison she's hugging me." Instead of saving me she joined in on the hug.
"Nein nein now you're both here!" I said in distress.
They let go and we headed to a tree where Allison shot a exploding arrow heard at the tree.
We heard something and Allison handed the bow to Lydia and headed to see what it is. Turns out it was Scott returning her necklace that he found.
Now we are at the mall. Yayyyy.
"Ever heard the phrase don't frown someone could be following your smile. Smile you two." Lydia said bringing me out of my thoughts.
"Lydia who are you going with?"
"I don't know."
"I do." Allison said moving her head towards my brother who just sprayed perfume in his face and was sneezing.
"Him."
Lydia frowned.
"Aw don't frown Lydia. Someone could be following your smile."Allison said as we headed to the dresses. She and Lydia literally grabbed my hands. Put me in a dressing room and handed me dresses claiming that they know their style but not mine so I'll probably take longest.
I'm at my 3rd dress that isn't my style.
"Ugh why are you so difficult." Lydia said leaving annoyed with herself because it usually doesn't take this long to figure out what girls dress style is.
Allison handed me a dress that was beautiful.
It was short in the front with a blue and pink color under hundreds of stars.
"Oh my God it's perfect!" They both said together as my brother walked in and saw me. His jaw dropped.
"Wow! Are you even my sister?"
"I think so."
"Drina it will go perfect with the chandelier necklace!"
"You think?"
"I know. Lydia wait till you see this necklace."
The girls continued shopping till they found their dresses and then as  we went home Lydia told me to bring my dress and stuff for tomorrow night because apparently I'm going to her house after school tomorrow so she can get me all pretty.
Stiles and I walked in to see dad at the table with papers surrounding him. he looks stressed.
"Hey dad whatcha doing?"
"Trying to figure this out. Hey could one of you pour me a glass please?"
Stiles grabbed a glass and some four roses out of the cabinet.
I knew exactly what my brother was going to do but I was too mentally drained so I said good night went upstairs and went to sleep.
