Once Ava had settled with her mac and cheese, Jace's anxiousness was increased tenfold. Telling Ava would be difficult, especially with ears listening in. It wasn't as if the few coraniaid were inherently evil but some that were caught by those with ill intent were often tortured to give information they heard.

As most supernaturals, the coraniaid were believed to be a myth created by mothers to keep their children on just this side of 'right.' They were based in Welsh folklore and were described to be able to hear every word the wind carries. Once revered and preserved, they began to be hunted by those that wanted their power. Most of the hunters were humans that wanted to know what their enemies were planning. When the 1840s rolled around, humans that sought to fight against those in power in Ireland heard of what the coraniaid could do. These humans eventually caught them, and when the coraniaid refused to help, they started killing the coraniaids' families. Eventually, most coraniaids accepted their death at the hands of the greedy humans.

Those that were not caught eventually returned to Avalon, their home. However, like all races of people, there were evil beings that refused to accept the reverence due to the coraniaid and still used them for their own agenda. The remaining coraniaid were offered asylum in the palace of the Tuatha de Danann, where they remain to this day. The last known count in the palace was about fifteen.

Speaking of the Tuatha de Danann brought Jace back to the present, and back to Ava. The Tuatha de Danann was a huge part in what Jace had to tell Ava.

"Ava, how far did your parents get through your schooling before sending you to public school?" Jace inquired.

Ava startled, looking over to him. "What do you mean?" she questioned.

"Well, when they were giving you lessons on being Nephilim, angel-born, whatever, do you remember the last lesson you had?"

"Yeah, I guess. We had just started learning about the Beings of Light in Ireland. The Tua-something or other."

"Great. I'm going to give you a quick crash course into them," Jace said. He knew Ava was confused when she looked at him and opened her mouth to say something. "I'll tell you why after, okay?" Jace said, cutting her off. Once Ava nodded, Jace took a breath and started.

"Back before supernaturals were 'myths,' there was a time we lived openly with humans. They knew about the monsters under the bed and would seek us out to help get rid of them."

"That sounds like a great deal. Why wouldn't humans want our help with the things they don't understand?" Ava questioned.

"That's just where the Beings of the Light, or Tuatha de Danann, come in. They had left Avalon to seek out peace with the humans. They were the original creators of the Serenity Treaty between humans and supernaturals. They settled in Ireland because it was close to the North Channel, which is the fastest way to get to Avalon. Only a select few know that information. While the Beings of the Light believed in peace between all beings, they knew that not all secrets could be shared."
