Changbin saw Jisung from the corner of his eye slip off silently. He had a look of despair, sadness rolling through the desert brown orbs.

"Guy, I got to go. Catch ya later..." he stammered, Hobbling over in the direction Jisung wandered off, too.

Chan followed behind with a concerned look.

"Is it Sung?" Chan said. He looked sad, and he nodded in agreement.

"Changbin? I think I know why..." Chan's comment put him at a halt really quick.

"Why?"

"He saw the way you looked at Hyunjin. His small smile faltered when he watched you interact with Hyunjin..." Changbin's gaze lingered on the empty space where Jisung had been.

"What look? I didn't give a look?" he lied. Changbin was hurting but also healing, trying to forget Hyunjin. His internal struggle was palpable.

"You can lie all you want, Changbin, but your love for Hyunjin runs deep in your veins, and Jisung can sense it already."

"Hyunjin loves Seungmin and Chan, and that's all I care about. Jisung is different. He-" he didn't know what words to describe their relationship, but it gave a great idea.

"I'll talk after Chan; I got to go!" he said, bolting as fast as he could for the art room. He was determined to make his feelings known and needed Mrs. Young's help to pull this off.

"You really want to do this, Changbin?" Mrs. Young asked, tapping the. She swirled her pen on the paperwork and scribbled her signature on a clipboard.

"Mrs. Young, I must show Jisung how important he is to me. I want to show it to the world through my eyes," Changbin said, his voice filled with determination. He placed the crutches down and pulled himself up the ladder attached to the scissor lift. Once he was centered on it, the operator started moving and switching the controls, and he was hoisted up to level with the mural, his chosen medium for emotional expression.

"Are you sure you're ready for the world to see the arts you can do fully?"

"If it's for Jisung... The world has to be ready for anything." He smiled cheekily. Mrs. Young grinds and approves. He took a deep breath, pausing for a small moment.

This is for me, for Jisung, for us. Changbin placed his Monster electric blue headphones on, turning onto the track Jisung played the day he first watched him sketch the outlines before starting the finishing sketch with a pink pencil. Curling, swirling, hardening lines, softening areas of previous work.

He placed the pencil down, pulling a fine-tip brush and dabbing it into the ROYGBIV palette, the brightest red color he could seek—a cheery red like his lips and tinted cheeks that blushed.

"I'm just doing the best I can

I'm just living in the life I have

I'm confused, but I'm fine with that

The beauty will outweigh the pain."

He recalls the memories—short moments in the gymnasium, his tender touch on his ankle, his eyes only concerned with him, the center of the standard room, the sensual feeling he wanted to hold in his arms. He cried tears for Changbin. He knew Jisung was scared.

"We'll all find a purpose one day

There are so many reasons to stay."

Blue waters are forming in the painting, and his words, 'Because it masks my tears,' still hit deeper. Soon, Changbin realized that many of his emotions ran through the painting. He was starting to understand the saying more and more.
