5 minutes

Chapter 5

   It's currently 8:45 and I'm finally done with  my home and it's still about 15 more minutes till Hailey gets here then my stomach decides to make itself know. I get off my bed and make my way downstairs towards the kitchen.
  
   When I enter my eyes immediately find my brothers, Jordan the only other person that treats me like family.

“Hey Dakota”
“Hey Jordan by the way thanks for dissapearing for almost a week you literally left me at the mercy of the she devil!”
“I'm really sorry I just needed a break from her so I stayed at a friend's place I didn't mean to leave you at her mercy”
“Its fine but next time please let me know if you want a break from here so I can prepare myself to be left alone with her ”
“Oh come on at least dad was here, anyway what's up”
“Well I'm going to a party tonight with Hailey so yeah” I quickly pick up an apple and start to eat
“You mean that crazy girl you call your best friend that's also obsessed with me? ”
“Oh come on don't be so modest and I wouldn't say she's obsessed with you persay just a mild crush"
“Just a mild crush?? While you guys had a sleepover last year she snuck into my room and cut some of my hair to keep! ” we both start laughing, after a while we calm down.
“Jordan”
“Yeah?”
“Do you know what's going on with mom and dad it seems like all they do now is argue?”
“To be honest I don't know but I'm sure it's mom's fault somehow, I don't know why they bother they should jus-”
“Dakota!!!!! ”

   I didn't even notice it was 9:04 already, Hailey's gonna be pissed.

“In here Hailey" I yell back
“Dakota I told you I was going to be here by 9 sharp what is it with you and not keeping time seriously ohhh Jordan heyy I didn't see you there, we haven't talked lately” she starts having eye seizures
“So ummm let's go get ready Hail's”
“Yeah sure whatever let's go” we finally leave the kitchen and head upstairs.
“You know I hate tardiness why didn't you open the door it's cold outside”
“Sorry, Jordan and I were talking about something important”
“Oh but how is he now after the whole crystal incident”
“Hes ok I guess he's just quiet these days and leaves the house more but at least he has started to smile again”
“That crazy idiotic girl you have a whole Jordan and you are still not satisfied I even heard that she has had 6 abortions this year” we burst  into laughter.
“So Dakota I'm sorry I've been acting mean these days it's just everything with school and cheerleading and college applications and home it's been hectic I guess the stress got to me and I took it out on you I'm sorry”
“Its fine Hail's I get it”
“Thank now let's go get ready for the party”

                   *Time skip*

  It's now 10 o'clock and the party is supposed to start by 10:15. With some time to spare we watch stranger things to kill time. When Mike is about to jump off the cliff Jordan comes into the room and turns on the light.

“ohhh the light, it burnsss! ”
“Shut up Dakota anyway who is throwing the party so I can beat him up if anything happens to you guys”
“Jordan no need for that”
“There is need I need to protect my baby sister and her best friend it's kinda my duty”
“Whatever his name is Richard”
“Full name? ”
“Richard Ambrose”
“Ok stay safe call me if anything happens”
“Ok thanks Jordan”
“Bye Kota see you later”

   I check the time and it's 10:30.

“We have to go Hailey”
“Ok let's go”
And with that we set off for the party.
