5 minutes

Chapter 10

   Today is Monday the day I go back to school. I was up majority of the night thinking of excuses I could use so I wouldn't have to go to school but they were either to over to top, to minor or what actually happened and there was no way I was going to tell my parents.

   I think I ran out of tears around 3 am in the morning and I had puked everything in my stomach out. I dragged myself out of bed and put on the baggiest clothes I couldn't find in my closet and put on my shoes. I ran my fingers through my hair in an attempt to tame it a bit. I grab my bag and walk out of my bedroom towards the dining room.

   I pushed the doors of the dining room open and walk in and I glance at my parents. My dad looked a bit worried and my mother looked repulsed as usual. She opened her mouth probably to throw some insults my way but then decided against it and closed her mouth. I don't bother to wait for her to find something to say as I grab some toast and a bottle of water and head towards the car where I see John already holding the door open for me.

“To madam Hailey's house?”
“No straight to school”

   I remembered briefly that she had said she didn't need a ride during one of my crying sessions. It made no difference to me as I never had any intentions to even go and pick her up.

   We arrived at school and everyone is standing around talking, no doubt about the game we won on Friday and the party. The party. I quickly shook my head so I wouldn't think about the party and start crying again. I quickly finish my toast and drink some water before leaving the car.

   I instantly felt nauseous at the thought of walking through the crowd of people especially since one of them is Richard. I almost threw up when I saw him. He was with Hailey laughing at something she said.

   I gathered all my courage and walk towards the school after telling John thank you and swallowing the bile that had risen to my throat while trying to take slow and steady breaths to calm myself down because I was one wrong move away from having a panic attack in front of all these people.

   I got to the front doors of the school without anyone saying anything to or even acknowledging me. I quickly entered and hurried towards my locker. I got to my locker got my books out and started to walk towards my first class. I knew class didn't start for another hour but at least I would be safe in the presence of a teacher.

   I kept looking over my shoulder to make sure he wasn't following me and thankfully I didn't see him. That is till I was rounding a corner and a hand pressed over my mouth and started to drag me backwards towards the janitors closet. Tears quickly filled my eyes but I refused to let them fall. I already knew who was pulling me and that caused my lungs to start malfunctioning, refusing oxygen. We finally got to the closet and he locked the door all while his hand is still over my mouth.

“Make noise and I'll kill you right now”
I nodded quickly as the tears I tried so hard to hold in fell freely.
“I really missed you over the weekend did you miss me?”

   I didn't say anything then all of a sudden I felt a stinging sensation on my left cheek and my ear started to ring. He slapped me!

“When I talk to you I expect an answer, anyway I would love a replay of Friday but there is no time so this will have to do for now”
Then he kissed me forcefully. I tried to push him away but he grabbed my hands and held them above my head. I even tried kicking but my attempts were futile.

   After what felt like eternity he let go and I slid down the door feeling all my energy dissapear.

“Remember you talk you die see you later Dakota”

   He kicks me in my gut before he leaves and locks me in the closet. I sat up and tried to calm myself down because black dots were clouding my vision and tears were running down my face. My attempts at calming myself down didn't work as my body started to shake. Air doesn't seem to be entering my lungs and soon my eyes roll to the back of my head.
