The Most Dangerous Thing I Ever Did

The most dangerous thing I ever did was nothing.

Doing nothing is safe, and consistent. In the moment of doing nothing you are probably safe, and probably sound. But to further the meaning behind the phrase 'In times of peace, prepare for war', I think that to not take a small risk now is to take a much larger risk later.

You can risk the comfort of today by going to the doctors to have them check something that's been worrying you.

You can risk the safety of today by going and confronting your neighbor who's behavior is becoming increasingly aggressive.

You can risk the security of today by going out and familiarizing yourself with the world around you, that you seem to find so threatening.

You can risk the stability of today and invest in something, in someone, and take a gamble. Or you can do nothing, and nothing changes.

The most dangerous thing I ever did was nothing.

"We don't stop playing because we grow old. We grow old because we stop playing." ~ George Bernard Shaw

"You will wait for someone to make the change in the world that you want to see, you'll hope they are out there, and you'll realize sooner or later that they are all waiting just the same as you."  ~ My interpretation

~ of one of Ghandi's sayings...

"You have to be the change you want to see in the world."
