The party decided that they should travel to the city of Alexstowe as that is where the river leads. They find another dead body. It turns out both dead bodies where orphans from Bundy and Krackle's orphanage that burnt down. They discover three other survivors and travel to them. Meanwhile John gets his hammer enchanted. They head to the first in a small lumber village. Jack interrogates her but doesn't find much of interest. Kevin makes friends with the bartender in the lumber village by playing music. John and Marcus get drunk. Gorpo! realises he needs a ruby gemstone to cast his chromatic orb spell so finds an old rich gem collector in the town. The party jokingly says he looks like Santa Claus. Gorpo! purchases a ruby with the help of Kevin. Afterwards, when the old man was asleep, Marcus breaks into his house and steals a box of expensive gems. In the morning the party make their way to another orphan. This one is a half elf that lives in a fairy forest. When they arrive they question her, again discovering little. But she offers to do an experiment on them. She points to two enclosed glass chambers with an odd looking control panel. When asked what it is she tells them it will give them powers and the fairies helped her build it. Marcus and Feraan brave the chambers. Feraan grows taller, more muscular, paler, her hair goes white, her eyes go golden. Her clothes rip as her muscles bulge. Marcus shrinks, his hair falls out in clumps leaving very little, his back curves, his teeth grow very sharp, his clothes sag in his now frail skinny body. The party wait for them to awake. Feraan feels amazing and much stronger, she also finds she has newfound power within her. Marcus on the other hand becomes unable to read or write and feels vulnerable. But his teeth are now very sharp and he seems to be able to create webs. He also seems to be able to mimic sounds and can flawlessly draw or recreate scenes he's encountered. He manages to draw a flawless picture of the dwarf city in the dirt. The party follow the half elf to a temple in the mountain. Marcus changes his name to Murkas as he misspells it and decides to keep it that way, partly to avoid arrest for stolen jewels. She calls it the Temple of the Witcher and tells Feraan she is the first Witcher in centuries. They enter, using Feraan's blood as a key. Inside they find 3 slabs each fitted with a necklace, armour and two swords (one silver, one meteor iron). Each has a different symbol on it, a bear, a wolf and a cat. A voice appears and tells feraan to pick one. Feraan takes the sword and medallion from the wolf slab. John tries to pick up the chainmail but experiences an electric shock. 3 ghosts that look like Witchers appear in the room and say that Feraan must prove herself. The party quickly finds that their mundane weapons are ineffectual. They try to use the swords but they are zapped. Murkas decides to encase the handles in web. Meanwhile Jack, John, the half-elf and Feraan battle the ghosts with their magic weapons. They defeat all three ghosts to find a secret door slide open. Inside is a huge chest filled with gold coins. They carry this chest back with them and use the funds to setup a stronghold a few miles from Orcustead.
