I woke up early the next morning to the sound of my kids whining for me.

The first thing I saw was Jiyeon totally snuggled into me while snoring. She looked so tranquil and calm. Compared to how I saw her the day prior, I'd take this Jiyeon any day.

Her lips looked so inviting and kissable but I refrained from doing anything without her knowledge. The last thing I wanted to do was do something to her that she didn't want.

So instead I settled for a soft kiss to her forehead before slinking up out of bed.

My kids immediately greeted me and cheered when they saw me come into their room.

"Daddy!" The two of them exclaimed.

I picked Kanghee out of her cot and pressed a kiss to her little nose.

"Where did you go yesterday, daddy?" Kangmin asked, hopping out of bed.

I grimaced, "Sorry kiddos, something came up that daddy had to take care of. But on the bright side, we have a very fun friend over. But they're sleeping so you've gotta be super quiet until they wake up."

The two of them cutely wrinkled their faces as they tried to figure out who this mysterious guest was.

"Are you two hungry, because I sure am," I said, changing the topic.

I successfully diverted their attention and led them to the kitchen.

I whipped up some eggs for them and made them some nutritious smoothies. Or at least I tried to.

The two of them were happily playing around with their stuffed animals and toys. I watched as the two of them played around without a care in the world.

They were so innocent. So young and inexperienced. The world had already thrown a lot at them and they didn't even know it. The fact that when they get older that I'd have to explain all of this in detail to them broke my heart. Kids are among the best of us and they don't deserve the crap they constantly get.

It dawned on me that Hana probably had no idea anything had gone down. I was terrified of the girl, but she was Jiyeon's best friend. She deserved to know.

So I took out my phone and called her.

"Hello?"

"H-hi Hana. It's Taehyung."

"...You have five seconds to explain why the hell you called me before I hang up."

"WoojaecametoJiyeon'shouseyesterdayatnightandassaultedherandshetextedmeforhelpsoIwentandrescuedherbeforehecoulddoanythingelseandIalsobeathimtoapulpandnowJiyeonisatmyplacesleeping," I said without breathing because I was genuinely terrified of her hanging up.

"I...what? I heard Woojae and beating and Jiyeon in the same sentence. Say it again slower. I won't hang up. Yet."

I took a deep breath, "She texted me last night telling me to help her. I got worried so I raced over to her place only to find that her front door had been done in. Her living room was totally trashed too. I followed the sounds of screams and found Woojae on top of her half-naked body. So I beat the living daylights out of him so that he couldn't walk because no one puts a hand on my girl and gets away with it. Then the cops came and took him away but Jiyeon was really shaken up and refused to talk to them. She wouldn't let me go and wanted to stay over with me so I let her. She's still sleeping but I thought I should let you know."

There was a bit of silence before I heard Hana grumble and shout on the other line.

"Kim Taehyung I need your address right now. I'm coming over right now."
