Jiyeon POV
"Ma'am! Ma'am! I-I understand you're frustrated-"
"Frustrated?! I'm beyond ballistic! Why are men such jerks?! I knew I should've stayed with my girlfriend!"
Woah tea.
"Miss, I assure you there is a lesson to learn from this."
"The lesson I learned was to never trust men. Thanks for the help Miss Rejection."
Before I could even respond, the caller had ended the call.
I let out an exhausted sigh and dropped my phone.
Recently, the hotline had been blowing up around the country. It had become a trend on TikTok and suddenly everyone knew about me. I still got my fair share of normal calls, but some were kids calling to see if I was really real. It was mildly irritating but I should've expected it sooner or later.
But the really scary part was now some people were reaching out to me because they wanted to do an interview. I hadn't really expected my platform to gain this much traction but it did. It really took off in an unexpected way. I was glad that it did, but it also meant a lot more responsibility for me.
I smiled to myself. There was no time to worry about that because today, I was meeting Taehyung and the kids.
I was honestly bouncing with excitement. I wasn't sure why, but after our first awkward meeting, I was excited to just get to be with Taehyung when he was sober.
I had changed out of my pajamas into a cuter outfit for my day out. I slipped into a simple white blouse with a beige sweater and some jeans paired with brown boots.
As it was autumn, I needed to dress warmly. Or cozily at least.
There was a loud honk outside my house.
I grabbed my bag and rushed out to greet Hana who was given me an apprehensive look.
She had a very protective expression on her face. After the whole Woojae incident, Hana had become very wary of guys I associated myself with. Hence why I never really hung out with men. She was the one who convinced me to talk to him more, but she was still wary.
"So, this guy-"
"Taehyung," I cut her off.
"Taehyung right. What's he like?" She asked.
"I'm not too sure. The first time I met him, he was piss drunk," I blurted.
She gave me a mortified look. That probably didn't ease her worries.
"We're doing this so that we get to know each other better. Plus his daughter Kanghee wanted to see me," I said.
Hana sighed, "Jiyeon, just be careful okay. Woojae was bad enough, and I don't want you to get hurt again and believe love isn't real or something."
I rolled my eyes, "Hana I know you care, but you're the one who told me to talk to him in the first place."
She bit her lip, "I know. Just...be careful. Please."
The rest of the ride was silent until we finally arrived Hangang Park.
I got out and gave Hana a reassuring wave before setting off towards the park.
It was a beautiful day out. I had always loved autumn days. The sight of the leaves falling as a soft breeze whipped last always gave me strange feelings of comfort.
I hugged myself softly as I leisurely strolled around. The Han River was a short distance away and while it was a bit of a painful memory thanks to a certain someone, I could never deny the serenity that surrounded the beautiful body of water.
