Jiyeon POV

I must've been dozing off at my desk because the next thing I knew, a strong force shook me from my daze.

It was Hana.

"Hey sorry. What were you saying?" I asked, rubbing the exhaustion and stress out of my eyes.

She sighed, "I was saying that you should go home. You look half-dead."

I scoffed, "Thanks. I love you too."

She snickered, "Seriously J. There's not much you need to do here anyway. You look like you haven't slept in ages."

I waved her off, "It wouldn't matter anyway. I'm hanging out with the kids today."

She raised an eyebrow, "Oh? And what about your man?"

I blushed, "I'm picking them up from his work so probably not a lot. But I'm sure we'll kiss or something."

She grinned, "You're so in love. I love it. But I will break his pretty face if he hurts your pretty face."

I playfully hit her, "You're so weird."

She hugged me from behind, mumbling some things about how she only wanted to look out for me.

Hana was like a protective older sister to me. I was eternally grateful for her major contribution to my life, but since the incident, she's always been wary for me. Which I respect because it's not often you have a friend so willing to care about you.

"Okay but go. Spend more time with them," she said.

I groaned, "Fine. But you better email me anything I miss."

She chuckled, "You know I won't miss a beat to give you extra work."

I stuck my tongue out at her as I packed up all of my belongings and headed out.

I took an Uber to Taehyung's work, excitedly waiting to see him and the kids again. We talked a lot over the phone but because I wanted to protect them, we didn't get to meet up as much. So this would be nice for us.

We pulled up in front of the big building before I got out and thanked the driver.

I waved to the very bitter receptionist who still hated me before heading up the elevator to Taehyung and Jimin's floor.

I greeted some of the employees who I had gotten to know due to my frequent visits with Taehyung. It was no secret that we were dating and I was honestly happy with that.

However, I ended up bumping into another familiar face.

"Oh hey Jiyeon! You're here kind of early. Taehyung's in his office with the kids though," Jimin said.

I smiled, "Thanks Jimin. How have you been?"

He gave me a weird expression before plastering a tight smile on his face, "I've been good. Just a bit stressed you know. Trying to avoid thinking about old bad habits."

I frowned in confusion. That last line was so random.

"Uh okay? That's good. Remember to be well always. Take breaks," I reminded.

He smiled, "You're a sweetheart. Taehyung is lucky to have you. I've got a meeting but it was nice seeing you."

I nodded, watching confusedly as he walked off.

"Well that was weird," I commented before making my way to Taehyung's office.

I knocked on the door before slowly opening it.
