When the world abruptly hits pause,
the rain still falls.
The earth caught fire in spring,
and church bells ring,
into silence
silence
silence.
Instead of flowers,
May brought snow.
Laced in something black instead of blue;
Words fall softly
and echoes of sirens.
So much changes in sixteen hours.
