The ambush triggered, Spartan 445 was struck down in the crossfire. The minor Prophet of Concealment taunted in amusement as the Brutes chained him up for public execution. The Crew of the Prophets ship, the 'Rectified Ascendency' jeered at the torture of the spartan. Assumed dead, the damaged UNSC's 'Destiny' launched its final warhead before it was ripped apart by the Ascendancy's fire. The warhead plunged itself into the hull of the Prophets ship and detonated, shaking it apart. The cheers turned into panicked screams before they were silenced by the voids vaccum. Reven's locked Moljnir armour could not withstand the blast. The shields dissolved and the warrior hurtled from the Ascendency into the vast abyss of space. The gel layer evaporated and the titanium shell grilled itself onto the Spartan's skin.
The flash of memories ceased as quick as they began. Reven's heart pounded in his chest as it rose and fell heavily. The mere mention of the Covenant shook him to his core.
Without a word the soldier turned on his heel and walked away.
"Your team is in good hands I assure you. I intend to make them the best on campus!" Ceasar called out politely to Reven, his feet rooted to the ground. He let out a sigh seeing as Reven was not intending to return. He cleared his throat uncomfortably, adjusted his suit and glanced at the others, taking notice of the tension between Weiss and Blake. "Forgive me for meddling in your team affairs but Ms. Belladonna, though your views are morally supported, you must understand Ms. Schnee's family has a very... intimate feud with the White Fang."
"Thank you!" Weiss said, rounding on Blake. But Blake seemed to take no notice. She looked in fear and suspicion at Ceasar at the mention of her last name.
"How do you know who I am?" She asked, trying to keep her voice level.
Ceasar then took notice of the black bow that lay over Blake's cat ears, concealing them. Recovering from his mistake he quickly justified his response. "Well it all starts with this extraordinary lady here." Ceasar said turning pointedly towards Ruby while giving a slight bow.
Ruby suddenly turned beat red and looked around frantically studdering, "Wha-me? Nah, what about me? Can't have..." Ruby said getting quieter as she finished glancing up shyly back at the smiling man before her in hopes she didn't make a fool out of herself.
Ceasar chuckled kindly, "Well Ms. Rose, let's just say your early access in Beacon did not go unnoticed. At first we at Haven narrowed it down to Ozpin playing his old stunts again, but then rumors started to fly about a decapitation of a nevermore."
"Oh well, yeah." Ruby admitted.
Ceasar arched his eyebrow. "Impressive." Then in sudden realization a great shock struck Ceasar at the notice of Ruby's wide silver eyes. "You have... stunning eyes."
"So why exactly are you interested in my sister?" Yang barged in crossley, arms folded, clearly disapproving of his flirtatious behavior.
Ceasar looked over at Yang, still smiling calmly. "Ms. ..."
"Yang. Call me Yang." She cut across, face blank.
"Very well. Well you see it's not her specifically, but your team. Team RWBY. After she was appointed the status of leader, we huntsman at Haven couldn't help but speculate what will happen with your careers. And you only have continued to impress."
Yang did not take the compliment. She just continued to stare at Ceasar, frowning slightly.
Ceasar turned to the spot where Vance was once standing to find her gone. Looking at the end of the street he could see her jogging slightly, attempting to regroup with Reven.
"Well" he started rounding on team RWBY, dramatically catching his cane in his right hand, "I'd best be off. Toodles!" And with a tip of his fedora, he strolled away.
