(We flash back to a point sometime between Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1 and Vol. 2. It's a dark screen..but we hear something off in the distance. It gets closer and closer...it's a voice: fiery, but soft at its core)VOICE: "Quill! Quill! Quill! PETER!"
(Suddenly, Peter gasps as he awakes from some type of coma. We see a bruise on his forehead. He looks around for a moment and we see that we are in a jungle-like environment; however, he centers on one thing or, more accurately, one person.)
(keep scrolling)
QUILL: "Gamora?"
GAMORA: "Good, you're up. And you have the battery?"
QUILL: (confidently) "'Do I have the battery?' Of course I do, it's right..."
(He reaches inside his jacket and suddenly has a look of concern.)
GAMORA: (disappointedly) "No...Quill..."
QUILL: "What do you want me to say? The last thing I remember was we were being chased by Holbrook's men...us jumping down from that waterfall..." (he points at a cliff that overlooks a giant waterfall that's about a mile away) "...and you told me to throw it because we can't get the battery wet before you jumped down into the waterfall!"
GAMORA: "And then...?"
QUILL: "Well, I threw it in the general direction you pointed at before..."
GAMORA: "Before what?"
QUILL: (ashamed) "...before I slipped, hit my head on a rock, and got knocked out."
GAMORA: "How you're still alive is one of life's greatest mysteries."
QUILL: "I...got nothing for that; HOWEVER, I say we head back to that waterfall and try to piece together where this battery might be. Sound good?
(Gamora nods and they start walking over. We cut to a montage where we see:
-Quill using his jet boots to fly over a gap. He turns back to lend a hand, but Gamora finesses her way over by jumping from tree to tree.
-Gamora cutting a fruit from a tree with her giant sword and eating it while Quill looks at her in admiration
-The pair making their way through various tricky platforms......until they finally get to the waterfall that leads into a little pond.)
GAMORA: "Well? Where'd you throw it?"
(Quill looks up at the waterfall and tries to measure distance.)
QUILL: "I threw it that way...and judging by how far I throw, and make no mistake, I throw pretty far...you know, where I'm from, I was actually a star quarterback on the-"
GAMORA: "Quill!"
QUILL: "Alright alright...well, it must be over..."
(He turns his head in a direction, makes his way towards a bush, and reaches his hand inside. Gamora looks on as Quill pulls out a battery the size of a wallet. He looks at Gamora with a smile.)
GAMORA: "Not bad, Starlord."
QUILL: "Eh, it's not my best work. Not like that time I held an infinity stone and saved the galaxy or whatever."
GAMORA: "You mean when we held an infinity stone?"
QUILL: "So you admit I'm the one who saved the galaxy?"
(Suddenly, a monkey-like creature swoops in, steals the battery from Quill, and makes escapes into the tall trees.)
GAMORA: "PETER!"
