Spellbound

I was so spellbound to you since the moment you laid eyes on me.
Everytime my fingers intertwined in yours, you lead me into a different world,
where loving you immeasurably felt sane.
There was peace and I was completely enchanted by the idea of us.
And then out of nowhere you abandoned me and left me with nothing but the illusion of the perfect world you once revealed to me.
The bruises and cracks you left on my heart bled tears of the pain you inflicted on me.
Your love was a disaster disguised as a blessing.
I felt sorry for myself for ever loving you.
If your love wasn't true nothing about you was ever true.
So I forgave you instead of hating you because that was the only way I would find my sanity again.
I decided to let go of you, piece by piece, part by part, all that we once were and all that we could have been.
