Kid Blink

" Please Blink, its okay." Lilian Larkson, Medda's daughter, had her hand on Kid Blink's shoulder. He shook his head, tears running out of his good eye. "No, you will hate it! Its ugly. There is a reason I even wear the patch." She looked around, making sure that no one else was around. "Youre not the only one who has scars." She took off her coat and he  saw thin cuts all over her arms and back. He gasped. "Why?" Tears streamed down her face. "My daddy, he hurt me. This at the time was my way of dealing with him." He wrapped her in his arms. "You shouldn't ever need to do this Lily." She smiled and said, "I know that now, but I didn't know that then." He took a deep breath and took off the patch. She saw ugly cuts and welts that never faded over where his eye was. "Oh, I don't care that you have scars Blink." She leaned in and kissed his ruined eye. His eyes widened and he said "Why would you do that?" She smiled shyly and replyed "I love you. not Mush, Race, Jack, Specs, Skittery, Crutchy, Spot, or anyone else," She leaned in and he met her halfway. Her fingers tangled in his hair, their bodies sliding together. "Blink, I love you, scars and all."
