Chapter Thirteen

Back to Kira's POV.

In life we all have shadows chasing us it's up to us to either drown in the darkness or we chase the light powerful enough to make the darkness the brightest star we never knew existed.
And at the moment l had found that light, Chris, it's a little to early to know but right now just standing at the kitchen door looking at how he interacts with Kayla just made my heart flatter.

We playing cat and mouse, he hasn't asked me out yet for all l know this could be a fling which would leave a dent of pain when he leaves a huge one l must add. I gotta Save this memory cause in life we remember memories not days.

"Look who decided to join us." Chris notices my presence and l smile in return

"Wanna join us for lunch." He asks

"I will stick to my soup." My voice was hoarse and talking didn't help my sore throat right now.

"You will be fine soon mummy." Kayla tells me after noticing my change in voice

"I know monkey." I walk to where she sat and kiss her forehead as l get my bowl of soup from Chris who side hugged me which l very much liked and returned with a cheek kiss.

Anyone who would see us right now, we looked like a small happy family, and l didn't want to change this moment for anything. Having a stomach flu sucks cause it's like the pain and the temperature is on periods cause it rapidly just changes.

As the darkness of evening started to engulf the light of the day my coughing got a little too much out of control. Oh God. Chris didn't want to leave and he did give a valid reason

"You can take of yourself but Kayla still needs someone and that's definitely not you." Point made.

Taking a blanket for  me he wrapped it around me as he supposedly went to buy take out for dinner as l watched Moana with Kayla for hundredth time it never gets old with her. Approximately after about twenty minutes Chris returns not only with food but with Jose, El ,Gray, Luke , so,e gorgeous looking girl who he seemed to be a little to cosy or rather too close for comfort if you ask me.

Maybe that's why he doesn't want to take this to another level.

I quickly turn my gaze to El who was feeling guilty for leaving me to go to Jose. Which l told her not to and remember the gorgeous lady l mentioned earlier she's right beside me smiling

"Hi name is Camila, you just be Kira who has got this douche l call a brother crazy for you."

That was too much information to process at the damn time, l clear my throat

"Oh hey. Didn't mean to meet as such circumstances." I greet her,

Somehow I started to notice similar features she had with Chris. Wow so much for jealousy.

"Better times will come. Just rest for today." She smiles at me before she took her seat next to Luke.

Chris dishes out our food for everyone, and takes his seat next to me after eating and having the room cleaned order by El my cleanliness control freak we all settle to watch

Thirty minutes in , Kayla was dead as a log and Chris took her to her bed and returned to me where he finally took me into his arms and l sank into willingly. Looking to my left Jose and El were into each other less of the movie and Camila and Lucas were too comfortable for all l remember Chris is not up for that relationship and last but not least Gray drowned himself in tho movie.
I guess l gotta distract his attention that direction.

A loud bang of a saucepan being beaten with a spatula l assumed filled my ears and it was damn to early to be woken up. Adjusting myself into my new found favourite place FYI Chris' arms and chest l turn to see little miss boss Kayla standing with her hand on her waist.

"Was that necessary." Gray groaned

I quickly alarm Lucas of his environment or rather the person opposite him considering his position with Camila would pretty much blow their cover if there was any.
We must have slept during the movie

"Morning Princess." Chris whispers and damn did l tell you his morning voice sound hella sexy.

"It's Thursday. I have school so do all of you. I pretty much want to leave that place with cry baby's sooner and get to the fun staff." Kayla shouts

Sassy much but oh well she's forgetting she's one cry baby herself but let me not pop that bubble. I can't say l am much better than l was

"I will drop her off before l go to my apartment." Chris answers my thought.

They stand folding the blankets , and use the bathroom to wash their faces and use mouth wash which l used cause l wouldn't want my breath be stinking.
Jose kisses El goodbye, Lucas leads Camila out the door ,Gray left as soon as he saw the new couple.

"I will need the car seat promised her that there won't be next time." Chris notifies me.

In my very lose pjs and a blanket l wrapped myself with l take Kayla's hand leading her to Chris' car and to take her car seat. After putting her seat and safely buckling her belt l kiss her forehead.

"Good day Monkey."

"Get well now mummy," she kisses my forehead and l automatically smile.

Closing the door l pull my blanket tighter around myself to talk to Chris who already was waiting for me.

"See you later?" He asks which l return with a nod.

I stood there as if waiting for something as if l knew he was going to snake his hand around my waist to give me brief kiss as goodbye which l loved very much.

"Don't miss me too much." I smile at him

"Will try not to." He pecks me for the last time and l watch them leave in my very happy mood but this stomach flu was getting in the way.Suddenly my attention  was drawn to the sudden flash that came my way which turned to look for
